Failure to place headstone on grave after seven months
In July 2010, my mother passed away and her remains were buried at Burningtree Memorial Gardens (BMG). My parents had prepaid for their site and markers many years back. At the time of her passing the staff At BMG indicated the marker would be in place within two weeks. I returned to Decatur three weeks later to find an unmarked grave.
After numerous phone calls over the past several months nothing has happened. Each time a staff member indicates it will be on the grave in a few days. After my call today I am concerned that they do not intend to place the marker on my mother's grave and may have financial issues.
At this point we are not seeking a claim even though my father is terribly distressed that after six months his wife of 65 years lies in an unmarked grave. We simply want the marker in place as indicated (and paid for) at the time of her death.

I am so sorry I know how stressful this can be for your family. Many of my family is buried there as well as my late grandfather. It use to be the nicest cemetery around up until 1994 when my grandfather lost a lung to cancer him and the former owner developed the cemetery and at that time it was a beautiful place with shrubs and nice landscaping and it is a shame that it is in the shape it's in today. He would be heart broken to know that your family has waited so long for the marker. My condolences and I pray your family is shown the respect you deserve. JRB
