Briarbrook Kennel nothing!

I do not have a single complaint about briarbrook! I bought my shepherd back in December of 2013. He was 10 weeks old very healthy and happy! I took him to the vet the next day for a simple check up and he was perfect. Hes now 3 years old and extremely healthy and happy! Doesnt have any issues has great hips has a great temperament extremely friendly and loves small kids. I actually contacted the owner on multiple occasions and she has always been extremely supportive with questions ive had.

Briarbrook Kennel Breeding german shepherd's with bad hips!!

We purchased 2 Shepherd pups in 2010. Went to her vet because we were concerned one of the pups had lost half his weight and was acting very lethargic. Her vet said he had a BAD case of worms and must have been missed when he wormed the pups. He wormed him and gave me a few meds and sent me on my way. I called Briarbrook and let them know what the vet said, they did apologize and offered me a new puppy. (of course I didn't want a new puppy, I just wanted this one to be healthy) I went back to their vet a few months later for their check up and the vet was shocked to see the pup, he commented to me that he couldn't believe this was the same pup, as he thought for sure the puppy I brought to him that day was not going to make it. Luckily he did. Now we have a new issue - this same pup, now a full grown beautiful male Shepherd at 5 years old, has been diagnosed with bad hip dysplasia. This is HEREDITARY! His parents are still being breed. Dam is Brynna and the Sire is Spade. DO NOT buy a puppy from them. Unfortunately we purchased 2 pups that day, we still have to have his brother's hips checked, hopefully he will fair better.

I contacted this breeder about a shepherd puppy. She wanted one thousand dollars for an unregistered male and advised me she has never had any issues with hips so they do not bother with any health testing on breeding stock. I thanked her for her time and elected not to go and look at puppies. Too bad because the adults are beautiful.

Just for the record, this boys beautiful all black brother was just put down at 6 years old, diagnosed with lymphoma... All the Chemo in the world could not save him, we tried. Lasted 3 months after diagnoses.

Briarbrook Kennel Responding to complaints

I haven't addressed these complaints on this board, but would like to do so now. These are the true facts!
We ARE a licensed facility by the state of NH. We are inspected twice a year by the state and have passed every inspection. We have also been inspected by AKC as required, since 1988 and have passed every inspection. Our puppies are sold with a health exam and certificate from our veterinarian within 14 days of their sale.
Puppies are just like children and CAN get ill. Especially during periods of stress like transferring homes. Some puppies get quiet, lethargic, diarrhea, kennel cough, or any other stress related ailments. This is why we offer a 14 day guarantee, that IF any concerns arise, the new owner is entitled to take the puppy to OUR vet at OUR expense. This is not required by law, but it is OUR guarantee!
All of the people with complaints are contacted. That is the way a reputable business is run. We are accredited with the BBB and have an A+ rating! We strive to make all of our customers happy but unfortunately some people are impossible to make happy...even if you bend over backwards to please them.

I am SO sorry. This was NOT a representation of the breeder and facility I was shown BEFORE purchasing their puppies. I dont know where these pictures came from, but I was shown a license and report from their state AND pictures of clean, healthy puppies/dogs INSIDE the home of this licensed breeder! I agree with you. This is NOT the way OUR puppies are raised! My vet of 40 years has since passed away unepectedly so I am unable to contact him. I can call his tech to see if she has any recall on this puppy, specifically. Unfortunately, he has some medical issues we were not aware of. I can assure you, he had knowledge of any and all medication that was dispensed under his orders. Again, no one knew of his medical condition and looking back it was obvious he was failing.
I do remember the puppy having all of his vaccinations up to date with the exception of the Rabies, which somehow wasn't done on time.
Also, We no longer purchase from these breeders. We are in the position now to go and VISIT the facilities and see the premises, pups and parents for ourselves.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I am truly sorry.

We have a puppy from this breeder and she is a genetic mess... she is a Maltese (allegedly) that was born July 24th, 2017 (again, allegedly) and when she was sold to my friend, she was sold with a severe malocclusion. A malocclusion is an overbite that is genetic and will only be present in dogs whose parents have them. The parents of my Maltese should have never been bred and furthermore, this puppy should have never been sold by an ethical business. When I messaged BB about this, all they had to say was the following (first my message to them):
Good morning. I wanted to contact you to let you know that one of your Maltese pups that was bought by a friend of mine last fall was given to me over the weekend. I took her to my vet this morning and she has been diagnosed with a severe over bite and will need professional dental surgery. This is going to cost upwards of 2000 dollars, not to mention the ride to Boxborough Mass. I respectfully request some financial assistance for this procedure as this should have been detected before the dog was sold and you shouldn't be breeding Token and Bindie if their pups are going to have this kind of issue - words from my Vet.
BB's response:
I'm sorry, our puppies are all sold as pet quality. There are the possibility of "faults" as you describe and are mentioned in the bill of sale. I understand you don't have the bill of sale because we didn't sell you the puppy. It is worth noting that neither bindi nor token have an uneven bite.

I do have the bill of sale and instead of arguing with them, I have taken the right steps and had the puppy's teeth fixed so she doesn't have to live with holes in the roof of her mouth. She is the sweetest puppy even with her issues... but then again, love makes all the difference.
Anyway, my two cents from my experience with these losers... it's all about the money.

Just curious, has anyone purchased a yorki from them and it turned out to be a silky terrier. Yorkie and silky look exactly alike as puppies but as they grow they look nothing alike.

Just an example of the responses coming back from shiba people who've dealt with you, or who are picking up the pieces of your breeding/selling disaster:::

"As a Shiba rescue volunteer, that 'isn't' a breeder I included on my list of responsible breeders I refer possible Shiba owners to. I have personally rehomed 5 of their Shibas due to lack of wanting them back after they've been sold. I've been in contact with many people through the years who've visited the kennel, and one Shiba owner in the area who purchased there because they felt so sorry for the dog. Sadly, when I met the owner and dog several years ago, the dog was older, had already lost one eye to glaucoma, with the second eye not looking good. I can't stress enough to always thoroughly check out any breeder you might be considering, be sure to make contact with as many breed rescues as possible, often the volunteers have more horrific information about some than anyone could imagine."

"We initially looked there and decided they weren't for us! We have friends that got their Shiba there and has had total reconstruction surgey on one leg at 2 years old and will need it on the other leg as well. She's an amazing Shiba but has had a tough time"

"I wish I had seen this a year ago. My boy _____ is from there. At the time all of the research I did suggested they were reputable. Something did feel a little off on the day we picked him up though. Plus he came home with a case of kennel cough which we didn't find out until a couple of days later. Today, _______ is so far happy and healthy. But knowing what I know now I will never do business with them again. They are very well disguised. They certainly duped me."

"About 11 years ago I got a Shiba Inu from them, it was a bit weird, I didn't know about puppy mills back then. But my shiba from there died of cancer last year. I never wanted to deal with them again after we got our puppy, something didnt feel right. Now I know, my gut was right. After adopting a dog from 'reputable' Shiba Inu breeder, I know how things should be."

"My ________ came from them, after a failed adoption attempt our hearts were sad and we decided to purchase a shiba instead. They had one available and we jumped on the opportunity. Let me start by saying that _____ is now healthy and the greatest friend I could ever ask for. When got him at 15 weeks we took him home to discover he had a uti and girardia (sp) he had food aggression and did not appear to have been raised under foot. They were helpful in the beginning, but I later learned that he was not bred there, just sold by them? I know now after research that they are not so great, and yes they have many breeds. I love my____, and if I had to do it again, I would. I'm happy I found him and am not sure that if another family had that he would be alive. His aggression was awful and almost got the better of me, but I stuck with and always will."

"BB is famous in New England for being a mill. I've had the (not so pleasurable) experience of physically going there. Horrified is all I can say. (And it's no where near as bad as it gets :( ... )"

" I was hoping that she stopped by now, but evidently not :( She has many resources and deals with brokers also. Back then she had GSD's and Shiba, now I know she's got at least 5 breeds. Her place is huge and there are a minimum five dogs in a kennel that I could see. Dirty, smelly, some not getting enough food, no real love or attention, bred to make money only..back when I was there there were well over 100 animals I would have guessed."

This is all within 24 hrs of my post, and the comments are still coming. I haven't yet posted among the German Shepherd groups... you can expect this list to get MUCH longer once I start discussions on other breed pages and rescue pages!

Monica, I only recently became aware of your existence and knew nothing of your reputation. When I found your website and saw that you have 5 or more breeds, I immediately got concerned. I posted questions to you on your page asking that you share your ethics as a breeder and answer some other questions that usually separate millers from A+ breeders. Rather than answering the questions, you immediately blocked me from your facebook page. Since you were unwilling to provide transparency on your breeding business and your 'heart' for the dogs, you have made it very clear what kind of breeder/seller you are. It is disgusting and concerning that you sell 5 or more breeds because any A+ breeder does it PURELY for the love of ONE breed, rarely ever two breeds, and so you will only find that A+ breeder to have 1 or 2 breeds. Those A+ breeders are also more than happy to share all information about themselves as breeders, including their beliefs about breeding, how they breed, what they have done to eliminate any genetic issues (which I also asked you), and beyond. A+ breeders never have any complaints because they meet buyers expectations from start to finish and beyond. Since I've posted this red flag to all the shiba groups (and soon the GSD groups and other rescue pages), there are already several comments from people who have either been to your place, or adopted from you who AGREE how disgusting your place is, how sick their dogs have been, etc. People like you are nothing but filthy low-lives who can't be bothered to have integrity and care for other living things... you use the dogs as your source of income, to the tune of probably $10, 000 or more per month with all 5 or so breeds. The fact that you also buy from other mills makes you even worse of a person to support the filthy caged breeding. I and my rescue friends will continue to expose you until you close your business. Period!

Just curious Monique do reputable business owners buy from places like in the pictures posted below? This is where the puppy you sold me came from! Feces and grime on the walls. No lighting in the facility. No records kept on any of the puppies and dogs that are only known by ID #'s. You sold me a sick dog end of story! I called you to let you know our puppy was sick and request an appointment with YOUR vet. You insisted you make the appointment. However you told me that they were booked and couldn't see my puppy but the vet told you to give us antibiotics so to come pick them up. Funny your vet had NO knowledge of this. You took it into your own hands to give my puppy prescription medication that could have been detrimental to her health. The puppy you sold us was also NOT properly vaccinated per NH law! If all this has slipped your memory please refer back to the letter you received dated February 14, 2014 from the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, markets & food. Better yet maybe I should post it for everyone to see! Our puppy has had continuous health issues since day one and you have never helped us in anyway! Please keep priding yourself on you A+ rating from the BBB I will be contacting them next. You can say all you want but pictures and Vet bills don't lie.

Briarbrook Kennel Great Breeder

this is a very clean kennel with very well taken care of pups. bought a maltese from there before christmas and was very pleased with how clean it was. the puppy was also clean and healthy. we were allowed to visit with a few pups to choose which one we wanted.. we chose the smallest one, the lady we talked to said he had to stay an extra couple weeks because he was so small they wanted to make sure he was ready to go and wouldnt have any problems.. i think other breeders would have tried to just get him out of there even tho he was small.. it was perfectly clean and the pups looked great

Briarbrook Kennel Beautiful, Clean facility

I have read sooo many bad reviews of this kennel, and I hate that only the bad things are usually put online.. so I am going to tell MY EXPERIENCE with this business. I have been to Briarbrook Kennel multiple times now and everytime i have gone the facility has been clean! Of course it smells of dog, its a kennel.. there are dogs lol but it was very very cleaned and smelled way better than other kennels I have been to! The puppies I looked at, which were of all breeds and ages since my family and I could not choose what we wanted, were HEALTHY and social! Some of them were really outgoing and some of them were shy, but some puppies can be shy! NONE of them were afraid of us or the children.. The staff was also very nice and answered many questions we had.. there are other rooms connected to the one we visited the puppies in and they were open so we could see in and those rooms were also CLEAN. They have adult dogs outside, those were also CLEAN! We looked at German Shepherds mostly and one of the puppies was from another breeder, we were allowed to talk to the owner of the facility about the breeder he came from and the puppies parents etc... and she was very open about it all.. we also looked at the parents of the puppies that were born there and they were beautiful dogs! They were brushed, and smelled good... not like I expected of a "kennel dog". My extended family has also been there before and also has nothing but good things to say! Well, that is my experience.. I love my dog, Gunner, and will always be thankful to Briarbrook for him.

Briarbrook Kennel False posts

I am appalled by what I am reading here. This couldn't be any further from the TRUTH! I have known this breeder and business owner for over 20 years. The facility is extremely clean. I know for a fact the adult dogs and puppies are allowed to play outside, as do the dogs being boarded there. There is a large fenced in play area in the back. Information posted here are nothing but lies. We also use the same veterinarian, he is excellent.! Go to the kennel and see for yourself before you pass judgement on this place. You would be very happy purchasing a puppy from them.

Briarbrook Kennel Puppy Mill

I am writing this not because not only am I an upset customer, I am doing this to save everyone from going to this Puppy Mill! They write adds in the Nashua Telegraph (which is where I found them) and they say that they are breeders of these dogs but they are not! When I got there to go look at Yorkie Puppies there were so many different breeds of dogs and they were all outside in the cold in cages or inside small rooms in cages all piled on top of each other. It upset me to see these dogs living in worse conditions than in a pet store! I put a deposit on my 10 week old Yorkie puppy who I fell in love with and wanted to take her from this place, I was told that she was breed there and would be able to go home in a week after the vet came to give her the shots. I called a few days after to ask what day they might expect to see the vet (being an excited 1st puppy owner) and if I could get a phone call when she was ready. I called again once 1 week hit because I was never given a call and they said she had already been ready the day before and they weren't sure why I wasn't given a call, I was disappointed I didn't receive a phone call as promised, but I was so happy to go get her. After signing paper work I was then told they were NOT the breeder and that she was exposed to many animals previously before coming to Briarbrook Kennel. I was NOT okay with being mislead and lied to! On the ride home she began to cough, and spitting up mucous! The night we brought her home we did not get to sleep because she coughed non stop and was crying while coughing and could not sleep. Every half hour for the entire night she did nothing but cough and spit up mucous. I immediately called the vet they told me to go to, and thankfully was able to see her first thing the next morning. When we went, we were there a total of 15 minutes! He spent barely any time with us at all which was disappointing and concerning. We now have had her on medicine for a few days and she has gotten worse. I will not be bringing her to their vet again even though it is at their cost because I do not trust what is going on here. I then called the women at Briarbrook Kennel and told her what was going on and there was no concern or empathy in her reaction! Any true breeder would of been concerned because true breeders care about their animals and want the absolute best once they leave and have spent time with them to have some attachment! She said in quote, "That is so weird because she was not coughing here at all". I don't know about anyone else but if she was coughing 15 minutes into the car ride home I think they knew perfectly what was going on! I then said, "I wanted you to know she officially has kennel cough on what YOUR vet said and that the other dogs she was exposed to should probably be treated as well." I received no response on this, she said, "Well I am glad you went to my vet because I trust him." Please save yourselves heart ache and get your innocent puppies somewhere else! It upsets me to have my poor puppy in such misery. The vet and the kennel both brushed it off like no big deal. I know a lot of people with dogs who never ever had their dog this way, and the ones that did get kennel cough, they kept the dogs a little longer to cure them before going home! This is my very first puppy that I bought, and thanks to Briarbrook Kennel, my first experience was an absolute horrible one and I regret not researching these people before! Please do not go to Briarbrook Kennel! Although, it makes me sad and these dogs should be saved! I hope my puppy gets well and has no future issues!

COMPLAINT IS UNRESOLVED! It is now a year later and my dog is blind in one eye and losing sight in the other. My puppy was shipped from another state and resold by Briarbrook. Now she has genetic issues and she is only 1yr old! Had to get her teeth pulled due to not losing her baby teeth and now she is blind. I had no luck with my complaints. Even if her business is to be shut down it does not shut down her breeding. It only limits her. I can only hope word of mouth goes a long way! My dog is my child. Finding out today she is fully blind in one eye and will soon be blind in both breaks my heart. MY PUPPY SUFFERED A YEAR AGO AND IS STILL SUFFERING!

Resolved

I wrote an email to the owner Monique expressing my experience to her and she emailed me back as well as called and left me a voice-mail. I did call her back and we proceeded to have a conversation that lasted almost an hour. She was apologetic and had sympathy for the experience and expressed that that is not how she does business and wanted to do whatever was possible to fix it. We talked about her employees being talked to because I dealt with them and not the owner Monique specifically. She plans to talk to her employees and train them better in customer service, I explained how I would of been happier if they had done this instead of that and gave examples. She also told me that she will be purchasing air purifiers and whatever else necessary to help the kennel cough from spreading/starting. My experience with the vet however she was not even aware that I even went to see him the next day. I did call the kennel and spoke to one of her employees who failed to tell her I had called. I appreciated how the conversation went with her, and hopefully my puppy gets better soon and I can move on from here.

It is hard to find a ethical breeder, but never purchase an animal from a breeder you are not comfortable with and does not take exceptional care of their animals. The parents should be on site, and the animals should be social and without many health issues. The problem with puppy or kitten mills is that queens and ### are over bred, not socialized, and not given proper nutrition or care. Many times unethical could care less about their breeding programs, and this results in genetics problems, shorten lives, unsocial puppies and kittens, and costing the owner thousands of dollars in vet care and special diets. That is if the animal even survives, or not given up to a shelter because of these issue or mechanized. I got lucky when searching for a Bengal kitten, and found an ethical breeder. It was a wonderful experience, and I love both of my felines. I had done a great deal of research of the breed, but had not done as much on a breeder. I am sorry about your dog's illness. It is a serious disease for a puppy because it has not developed a strong immune system. You have every right to be concerned because just like any URI problem, it quickly could have turned into pneumonia or other serious diseases. I hope your puppy makes a quick recovery. I also think you should find another vet. He should have taken your concerns seriously. Enjoy being a puppy parent!

Briarbrook Kennel Puppy Mill

Dont buy a puppy from these hacks. Picked up a German Shepherd puppy from this place, sent home with the wrong dog, a dose of antibiotics just in case it had kennel cough and then tested positive for Giardinia when I brought to my own vet for a health check. Unsocialized puppy, born and tossed in a chain link kennel until 8 weeks old and sold to familes as an in-bred sub standard dog. This was a big mistake, the place is dirty, breeds 3-4 different kinds of dogs and is all about the money. They truly are a puppy mill,
Briarbrook kennels in NH - don't make the same mistake I did.

I didn't realize it was different dog until I got it home and compared to the pic's I took when first looked at 7 weeks. Different markings and size. I've had 3 other puppies that I raised to be great dogs, as we will with this one, but dissapointed this will be more work. I did the research and just didn't see anything good or bad online about this place and wanted to get the word out. It's a factory!

I purchased a puppy from birarbrook kennel and i have to say the place is nothing like a puppy mill. its emaculate! The people are very professional. My pup Arlo when i brought him home he had come back positive for giardia but there were no eggs so he had been exposed to it at some point and i contacted them via facebook and i dropped off poop sample to their vet and they took care of it. I'm sorry about all of your dogs and the bad experiences youve all had but some of what im reading is on all of you not the breeder. Also that whole she is sticking the dog herself with a syringe of steroids... Big DEAL! you do not have to be a licensed vet to do that. Also with fluid in the lungs steroids is probably what a vet would do anyways. I think some of most of you all are complaining about things that the kennel could not prevent they were very open and honest with us and They do sell some unregistered litters and were very honest with us about the litters they had there. THey do breed other dogs as well but that doesnt make them a puppy mill. And to the original poster saying he got a different dog then the one home with the wrong dog.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? you didnt know? Did you visit the dog at all while it was there? i mean you didnt say to yourself hmm this dog doesnt look like the right one. you all need some help. Dont buy from that breeder again if you guys are unhappy. I mean some of you say that you didnt like the conditions you saw the dogs in before buying so why did you buy? I think Briarbrook is a very clean very nice facility and nothing of it resembled anything like a puppy mill.

Bought 2 sheperds at briarbrook and today they are 7 and 8 yrs old. No medical issues there entire life. Briarbrook is NOT a puppy mill. These are disgruntled people who might of got a puppy and it unfortunately became sick. I read some of these posts and I do not believe Any of the issues are briarbrooks fault. I will someday buy another shepherd from them knowing they do there best to deliver you a healthy animal but sometimes things happen in life.

I purchased our Hazel in 2007. I 've seen all of these bad issues and I feel sorry for all of you. I did not find it dirty at all. We met her parents (Grand Kaymen and Gert), who were wonderful. We have never had any health issues with her. She has been the most amazing dog we could ask for. She is so smart and kind. Wonderful with my kids She has the best temperment that I 've ever seen in a german Shepherd. It is with great sorrow that she has cancer. We are devastated and not ready to lose her. We will never find another dog like her. We are considering getting another pup after she has passed. It will take us quite a while to get over it, but we definitely will consider Briarbrook again. It has been 8 years and I am going to be a little skeptical after all these bad reviews. I hope that's not the case.

Well, it is now 2023. We purchased a female German Shepherd from briar Brook in 2019. They were a lot of red flags when we went this time. The parents were not on premises. Never supplied me with any information about a pup. Like I said, in the previous review on another page, she came loaded with worms, and it cost me lots of money to get rid of them. I didn’t even bother with her veterinarian because I’ve heard nothing but bad things about them. She was the sweetest dog, but definitely had some inbreeding going on. When I looked up the information from her paperwork online, it stated that she came from Kentucky. We love her unconditionally. She had a lot of health issues and unfortunately passed away three weeks ago due to genetic illness called IMHA. It’s not something that can be picked up. It just kicks in. It’s a disease where her immune system kills her red blood cells. She had to have three by transfusions and they did not take. The survival rate was only 30% so we had to put a sweet girl down because she was suffering so bad. I absolutely do not recommend them! My son also purchased a dog from them and had to put her down last month due to an illness that I can’t think of at the moment. Now they’re selling their dog supposedly out of Ohio, but the area code that they have listed is not in Ohio. Beware!

We bought a male German Shepherd puppy from them on March 15th, 2017. He has been very calm, healthy and easy going with my two young children (3 and 8). Today is the third day at our home and this 8 weeks puppy already knows to go to the bathroom outside! He is amazing. I don't see the same problem as the other people complained. It looks like a regular place to me - I mean if you want it clean and nice then go to a 5-star hotel? So far, we are very happy with the addition to our family. Not like the other breeders, this place does not ask you to fill an application form, and tell you if the dog is a good fit because you have young children, or you don't have young children, blah blah blah. Attach a picture of Max sitting in our yard. He is so cute!

I got a German Shepherd puppy from them as well. He had diarrhea the first day. We went to their vet after about 5 days of his non stop diarrhea. He said he is a very healthy puppy but did have tapeworms from fleas most likely in their kennels, but this isn't uncommon for kennels he said. The puppy had gone from 20lbs to 17lbs. Claimed it was just due to two different scales. He gave the puppy a single shot and said he'd be fine. Week later, puppy's diarrhea had not gone away but his appetite did. He stopped eating after that we brought him to our vet. Our vet says the stool sample we brought was packed with tapeworms, bacteria, and the next day the results came in positive for Giardia. Our vet said that these worms must have been in him since he was at Briarbrook because they had already been through their full cycle and then some. Our puppy has also gotten too thin to ignore. Other things we told our vet seemed to concern her, but Mr. Smiley had no concerns whatsoever. I hadn't looked at reviews for this kennel or their vet "Mr. Smiley" but once I did... sure enough other people with the same issue. Mr. Smiley may or may not be a bad vet but I have a hunch that if your dog comes from the Briarbrook, which he checks up on every 10 days (so he says), then he has less thorough approach to checking over your puppy's condition. His review in general though seem to point towards him doing as little as possible. Do yourself a favor and don't get a dog from this place but if you do BRING THE PUPPY TO YOUR OWN VET!

Hi, I'm 12 years old (almost 13). But I'm very mature for my age. I've been doing so much research on dog breeds and my family and I have been looking for a dog for about 6 months. I love the Shiba Inu, and then I found Briarbrook Kennel in Pittsfield, NH. I want to make sure that the puppy we get is healthy and perfect; so we can bond with a new part of the family without worrying that it's going to get sick soon. On their website, all of the reviews are good, saying that the kennel is clean and the puppies are healthy. But these complaints sound terribly awful, and I'm sorry for all that has happened to your beloved puppies. I'm not sure whether to trust the Briarbrook Kennel or listen to you guys. Help?

I need to post a retraction to this comment as I cannot delete it. I have been in touch with Monique since last week and she has done well by this situation! The one who first answers my complaint was NOT her. I have found Monique to be very helpful and upfront. She is standing behind this puppy and our purchase. Please do not take all the complaints as Gospel and give Monique a chance to respond. If there are any issues, please talk directly to her before jumping the gun like I did.
Sincerely, Wanda Chapman.

My daughter bought a GSD puppy from them 31/2 weeks ago. The poor thing has had diarrhea from the time she was picked up. Paperwork states that pup was seen @ their vet and treated for Giardia. Well, she has it still! In my 35 years of Animal Services I have never owned nor supported a Puppymill. I would never sell a sick puppy or one with explosive liquid stools. I have always and will forever send a healthy pup or Rescued one home with a 3 week supply of good food, Eagle or California Natural, all pups or dogs that have papers the papers are turned over once that Animal is spayed/altered. ALL my registered puppies go with a puppy registration form, a photocopy of their parents lineage and photos of the parents. This "Kennel" won't even give me the Sire/dams registered names for me to look up! So, we paid $800.00 for a sick puppy mill puppy that has cost us another few hundred dollars by itself. Now I get to call my clients and tell them that their beloved pet has been exposed to Giardia. Pay for their fecals and treatments. And it puts a stain on MY name and business. 35 years I have been Rescuing, training, breeding Service dogs, boarding and I have not ever had a dog with Giardia. Until we got "Abbie" from BriarBrook!
Not amused. Next complaint is going to HSUS and AKC as the papers were NOT transferred with the puppy! Horrid horrid treatment of Animals. It is all about the $$$$.
Ps. "Abbie" is a spastic pup with NO house manners! Very typical, of Puppy Mill pups! She has never seen the inside of a house to learn basic house rules. Just dumped in a kennel room to spread Giardia to all the other puppies there. BEWARE! BUYER BEWARE! Do NOT support this Puppy Mill.

You may have seen my complaint from a year ago about my sick yorkie puppy I purchased from Monique at Briarbrook Kennel. An update and new complaint on this puppy mill! My Yorkie Angel is a year old now. I reported the company to as many places as I could. I could only be hopeful that my puppy would get better and live a normal life. She is my child. Best thing that would happen to me. A year ago Monique only contacted me due to the complaints and having her be investigated. She asked me to take my post down. But i put it as resolved instead. It is not resolved. My puppy was sick for months. Finally she got better and created herself a loving personality. She became healthy and loves to run outside. I ended up noticing that she had 2 rows of teeth! Her baby teeth were not falling out. They never did. I had to get them surgically removed to prevent gum disease and pain. This is a genetic issue some dogs get. Monique did not breed my dog. She came from Missouri.(disclosed on her pedigree) This was not dosclosed to me verbally before purchase. I had the option to trade my puppy in for another yorkie. Absolutely not. After speaking with Monique that day i never heard from her again. She wanted the complaint off and that was all! A year later i went to bring my puppy for her yearly exam as well as a check up due to her left eye beeing white and cloudy...something that just came on a week ago. My vet tells me that Angel is 100% blind in her left eye and is likely to happen to her other eye. She has juvenille cataracts. The cause of this is genetic. I now need to go to a specialist for further treatment. I will keep posted on what i find out from a specialist about her disease. Do not buy from Monique and Briarbrook Kennel. She also sends her puppies off to be sold at neighboring pet stores! She has no love for these animals. Just a way to make money! I have spoken with A LOT of dog owners who have bought from breeders! Breeders keep in touch and check in on their animals! Others like to follow on facebook to be able to see them growing and post on their website. Others get letters in the mail hoping all is well and reminded of the contact info and hope to be repeat customers. Others receive collars and name tags. My dog received a year of suffering and will continue to suffer. And we all know who is to blame!

Hi, My name is Kimberley G and on Feb 27 2014 someone posted a comment on this page under the name KimmieAnne regarding an issue that I was having they illegally took my complaint from another site and listed it here, I did not in any way post this review to this site. This matter has already been settled between the breeder and myself and I believe this review needs to be removed as not coming from the original source which would be myself. I have already removed the review in which I myself posted. This one was not authorized by me or supported by me. I think this website should remove it at my request as well as the owner of the Birkenwald Kennel Teri as being invalid.

Briarbrook Kennel Leak in the ceiling a lot of time

For 1 year and 9 months, I got a lot of problem in Briarbrook Apartment. After few month, the gas range for cook and the refrigerator was bad. Thus they changed the other old gas range and refrigerator after I complain 3 times. But it will be OK, if new residence in Briarbrook because they are renovating right now. But main problem is leaking in the ceiling. After 1 and 3 months in rental period, the ceiling of my master room was leaking water from up-stairs because of renovating. They said "It will be OK. We will be painting stain of leaking after dry water. " So that time, they was painting it. After 2 month, leaking one more time. I also complain to apartment rental office. They said "We will be painting the stain of leaking. Then it will be OK." Actually, the size of stain was 10 inch diameter. So I said OK. After 3 month, I got one more time leaking on ceiling between dining room and kitchen. It was 1 months ago from now. So I was complain to rental office. They said "It will be OK after painting." Acutall our rental remain 4 months. So I said OK because I will be move the other apartment. After 1 month, it was yesterday, I got leaking one more time at all of master room. After work, when I came in home, I got a lot of bad smell and some of sound in my master room. When I turn on light in master room, it was amazing. The 10 of hole is in the ceiling and maintain people was turn on there Fan and my Fan. Also they stand basket to get water from ceiling. Also my bed was wet becasue of leaking. I was going to rental office this morning. They said "It was broken pipe from up-stairs. We will be painting after dry water." So I was complain a lot about it. This one was not in one time. The rental office said they can not do anything. Also they said "If you want to move other unit, you can do. But you must pay $150.00 more per month because other units are already renovated." So I said "I can not pay that amount for movement other unit because of apartment problem. If you can do, please change unit without increase rental fee." They said "We can not do anything. But if you want to move other unit with renovated, we can give you same rental fee until current rental expired. After expired rental, you must pay $150.00. That means you renew right now with 15 months. Otherwise we can not do anything. If you want to move the other apartment, go there. The other apartments will be little bit expensive than us. That is your choice. We will be painting your ceiling in your master bedroom at monday." So I said "You gave us option for renew 1 week ago. It was almost same price now. If you can give us same price with renew option 1 week ago, I will accept move other unit. I can not accept your recommandation." They said "I am sorry. I can not anything. If you want to move the other apartments, go head. We can not do anything. We will be painting your ceiling on Monday." This is end of talk. Actually, leaking in the ceiling because of renovating is not my fault. It was apartment fault. But they don't want cover me. They want just move more expensive apartment unit then they want making more money. Actually now, a lot of bad smell in my house and I can not sleep in my room. I must sleep in living room. The Briarbrook Apartment management is very bad. They didn't think about their residence at all... never.. never...
