Got charged for oil change but it never happened. Took my car to another mechanic because it was idling rough and making a clicking noise. Also, the OD sensor came on. The mechanic checked and found out that the oil was dirty and gunky. There was no oil on the dipstick. The mechanic also checked for leaks but found none. I used to change my oil at Brakemax every 6,000 miles with high-grade synthetic oil. I feel like they ripped me off and waited for me to come back so they could charge me more money for work caused by their negligence.

I went to this place called BRAKEmax Car Care Centers to get a battery for my car. I asked the kid if they had Interstate batteries, but he said no. He looked up my car and sold me a battery that he said was the "right" one for it. The next day, I took the battery to my mechanic and he said it didn't have enough cold cranking amps. So I went back to the same place where I've been going for 11 years and spent a lot of money. The same kid was at the counter and I told him the battery wouldn't work. He said they don't sell anything for my car above 600 CCA, but he couldn't refund me because it's a battery. I sent an email to the company and disputed it with my tireworks credit card. Weeks later, I got a letter from GB auto services INC. that was written to the credit card dispute. They said I was a liar and a complete [censored]. They said I asked specifically for the low CCA battery by name, which I didn't. They also said I installed it, which I didn't. They said they offered me an exchange for a battery they don't even stock, which is a lie. It's one thing for a company to not want to keep a long-term customer happy by working with them to fix a problem. But to lose a customer because they want to talk bad about them is just wrong. I won't spend any more money here and I'll tell everyone I know to go somewhere else. There are plenty of other places nearby that offer the same services.

brakemax is a good place to get your car fixed. they do a good job and are pretty fast. i went there to get my brakes fixed and they did it in no time. the people who work there are nice and helpful. i would recommend brakemax to anyone who needs their car fixed.

I've been there a few times and they always take good care of me. The prices are fair and they don't try to upsell you on anything you don't need. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable mechanic.

I told these guys to stop sending us mail, but they keep doing it. They said they would stop, but they didn't. We don't want any more mail with our name or anyone else's name who doesn't live here. And we don't want any mail for "resident" either. It's annoying.

Had a really bad experience at BRAKEmax Car Care Centers. I went in for an AC check after already doing some work myself like changing the air filter, cabin filter, and recharging my AC system. I asked them to check the temperature and blow speed. They said they would do a couple of free checks and then charge $20 for additional ones. But when I got the bill, it was $108.69 for the initial check. They called me and said the volume was low and the low side port was leaking. I explained what I had already done, but they insisted it was still low. It was frustrating and expensive.

who messed up the brake job. It's frustrating to have to deal with these issues, but at least they are taking responsibility and fixing the problems. Overall, I would recommend BRAKEmax Car Care Centers for their willingness to make things right and their prompt service. Just make sure to double check their work before hitting the road.

These Brake shops are a total nightmare for customers. The prices they charge for their services are outrageous. They charge $119 an hour for labor, which is way too much. The prices of their parts are also very high, almost three times the cost of what you could buy at a regular store. They quoted me $280 for a master brake cylinder, which is crazy because you can buy the same part for only $64 at any local store. They also charge for bleeding and brake fluids, which is unnecessary. A local mom and pop brake shop did the same job for only $85. Another time, I went to the Brakemax shop near Costco for a lube job, but they told me I needed a new front end for $2000. They were very pushy and even threatening. They never even did the lube job because they weren't sure if my car had lube fittings. These people are ripping off customers who don't know much about cars. The prices change depending on who you talk to, and they will definitely rip you off. Don't go to these shops!

I went to the new Brake Max place on Tanque Verde Rd a couple of weeks ago. The manager, ***, wasn't very helpful when I asked him to back off the drain plug on my car. He said he needed to charge me more to pay for their fancy new building. I already had all the parts I needed, but I agreed to let them sell me something I didn't need as long as they removed the drain plug and put in the one I had bought. I left my parts with them and they said it would be ready in 2 hours. When I came back, they hadn't done what I asked and instead took out more parts to sell me stuff I didn't need. They didn't even try to contact me or give me any options. I had to pay them to get my car back, but I'm really mad about their shady practices. They could have had a loyal customer, but now I'm filing a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com.

I've been taking my 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass to BRAKEmax Car Care Centers for years for oil changes and maintenance. They replaced the rack and pinion twice, and then the assembly fan and radiator (under warranty) in August . They also replaced the ignition switch and battery, but the battery died after sitting for three days. I had to pay $95 to tow it back to the shop, but they wouldn't reimburse me because of an electrical problem. They offered a free oil change instead. I noticed an oil leak but didn't take it back due to COVID concerns. My daughter took it to another shop, and they said the rack and pinion was leaking badly. BRAKEmax honored the warranty but charged for labor. The car was in the shop from January 23 to February 2. When my daughter picked it up, there was oil and a drink spilled on the hood, and the inside was dirty. She saw a clear liquid leaking the next morning and called but never heard back. I want to take it to another shop and have BRAKEmax reimburse me for the evaluation, repairs, and the $95 tow fee they promised.
