I gotta say, I've used a few cashback sites in my day and BeFrugal ain't one of the good ones. I mean, sure, sometimes I get my cashback, but more often than not, my orders don't even get tracked. And when I try to get some answers from their customer service, they just drag their feet and hope I forget about it. It's like they don't even care about their customers!

And don't even get me started on their "investigations." They take forever and a day to look into things, and then they just deny the claim and blame it on me. Like, excuse me? I know how to use a cashback site, thank you very much. It's not my fault if your system is messed up.

Honestly, I'd say skip BeFrugal altogether. Even if other cashback sites have lower rates, at least you have a better chance of actually getting something back. I gotta say, BeFrugal is not the best cashback website out there. I've been using it for over a year and a half now, and I've spent thousands of dollars through their links, but the payouts are just not worth it. I mean, I wish I could show you guys a screenshot of my dashboard, because it's ridiculous. 75% of my purchases show $0 payout, even though it said 5% or more. And the ones that do have payouts are just pennies, like seriously, 19 cents for a purchase of $745 that was advertised to pay $52.15? That's just not right.

And don't even get me started on the whole "not payable for at least 90 days" thing. After a year and a half and thousands spent, my account only shows $34.66 cash back, and of that, only 93 cents is actually payable. And get this, $10 of that $34.66 is the "bonus" they offer for signing up, which was over a year and a half ago, and it's not payable until I have over $10 that actually becomes "payable." So basically, they're just keeping most of my "cash back" for themselves.

And if you think referring friends and family will help, think again. You won't get paid as advertised. It's like they're playing a game with us, hoping we'll forget about it and never actually check the details of what's going on with each purchase. It's just not reputable, and their advertising is misleading at best, and utterly false at worst.

So my advice? Don't give these people access to your online shopping and browser. They're just trying to run game on you. #BeFrugalSucks

There are so many rebate sites out there, it's hard to know which ones to trust. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with BeFrugal.com. I made eight purchases through their site, but none of them were approved for a rebate. According to Nordstrom customer service, BeFrugal gets reimbursed for the link to their site, but then they get really stingy when it comes to giving out rebates for purchases.

I'm not new to the online rebate affiliate program - I made over $1200 last year alone. But with BeFrugal, I had a frustrating experience. Here's what happened: on November 30, 2015, I found some boots on sale at Nordstrom.com. I found the link through my logged-in BeFrugal account, and the rebate should have been around $12 on a $204 purchase. I completed the purchase and got the boots, but no rebate from BeFrugal.

So on January 6, 2016, I emailed BeFrugal to ask about the missing rebate. They asked me to provide the date, ticket number, a copy of the purchase email from Nordstrom, and a copy of the order itself. Then on January 21, I got an email from Todd at BeFrugal saying that my rebate was declined by the Nordstrom affiliate program. I called Nordstrom customer service, and they confirmed that I made the purchase and that BeFrugal was paid.

So I emailed BeFrugal back to ask why my rebate was declined and who the Nordstrom affiliate program is. They said that the retailer isn't required to state why, and that they don't know who the affiliate program is - even though they just got a decline notice from them for my rebate.

It seems like BeFrugal is keeping the money for themselves and not passing it on to their customers. I'm really disappointed with this experience, and I wouldn't recommend using BeFrugal. If you've had a similar experience, please let me know - I'm considering contacting a lawyer about this ripoff site.

My experience with Befrugal has been pretty good overall. I've been using it for a little over three years now and I haven't had any major issues with the cashback and savings aspect. However, there have been a couple of times where I've had some trouble with receiving my payments.

The first time I cashed in, I waited the full 10 business days like they said to receive my check. When I didn't receive it, I contacted them and they told me they needed some additional information from me. I was pretty upset about this, but I provided the information and waited another 10 business days before finally receiving my check.

This year, I requested payment on October 23rd and was told to wait 10 business days to receive my check. When I inquired about it, they told me they had mailed it out on November 3rd and that it should take 3-5 business days to reach me. However, it's now November 10th and I still haven't received it. When I contacted them again, they offered to re-issue another check but would charge me a $10 fee for reprocessing and putting a stop payment on the first check. I wasn't too happy about this, especially since they didn't offer any sort of tracking or certification for the check they sent me.

Despite these issues, I still enjoy using Befrugal. However, I may consider using Paypal instead next time since they seem to have the same 10 business day policy but don't charge any additional fees. Overall, I would recommend Befrugal to others, but just be aware that there may be some delays in receiving your payments.

I decided to give BeFrugal a try because they advertised better return rates than other apps. However, I have yet to receive a single penny from any transactions. I've had a lot of trouble with the app not logging my transactions as "clicks" due to a problem with the app itself. I had to uninstall and reinstall it just to get it to work properly. I reached out to customer support for assistance, but even though I could show screen shots where purchases were made through the app, they would not give me credit for purchases because their system did not show the "clicks." Apparently, a "click" is when you click on the retailer's icon and go to their webpage through the BeFrugal portal. The "click" is logged and in theory the retailer will report the transaction back to BeFrugal and you will be credited with the rebate later on.

But that's not the only problem I've had with BeFrugal. I made transactions at larger retailers through the BF portal, making sure the "click" was present before ending the transaction. I completed the purchase and waited about 10 days, but no credit was given. I contacted customer support again and they said I needed the exact email (copy and pasted into their support page) of the purchase confirmation email. The retailer does not provide a purchase confirmation email that shows prices, only an email that your order is being processed (for pickup) and another email confirming it's ready for pickup.

I then reached out to customer support for the retailer, but they told me they don't send those emails. Instead, they provided me with instructions to print my invoice. But BeFrugal doesn't want my invoice... they want the email that doesn't exist.

Finally, BeFrugal said they would credit my account, but conduct an inquiry before making a final determination. Several days later, they removed my credit without giving me a specific reason why. Instead, their email just said their investigation was denied, stating that it may have been a result of clicking on any links or popups outside the BeFrugal browser window, searching using an outside site, using a coupon code offer not listed on BeFrugal, having another coupon site's toolbar active, etc.

None of this occurred. BeFrugal has simply denied every single transaction I have performed in order to prevent from paying me any credits that I earned. I have never had these issues on any other app/service that provides electronic rebates and I use several. I earned enough last year to pay an entire mortgage payment. I understand the rules very well. Do not use this service. You will regret it.

So while I'm closing my account now that the payment is in my checking account officially, I'm actually pretty happy with the outcome.

That being said, I still wouldn't recommend BeFrugal to anyone. They're a terrible company that doesn't care about their customers. Ebates is much better in my opinion - they may not have high cash back rates, but at least they don't give you a bunch of excuses and headaches when it comes to getting your money. Plus, BeFrugal makes you wait so many days (60-90) for a transaction to go from pending to confirmed because of return dates and billing cycles, which is ridiculous. Ebates doesn't do that. Stick with them instead.

As a tech-savvy web designer, I know how these things work, and I didn't mess it up. They just either intentionally or unintentionally don't register the purchases after I click through.

It's a real pain in the butt to have to contact them about almost every purchase because now it feels like you are doing too much work for very low pay. And you can't even email them about it when you realize the website missed your purchase. You have to wait SEVEN days to email them! So you have to keep track of all the purchases you have made at all times -- which is not an easy task and basically forces me to be an unpaid secretary chasing low dollar amounts here and there.

I have had to dig through my email to try to remember which purchases I made on what day, and whether I received cashback for it, and whether it's been 7 days so I can contact them. Even after the 7 days, they just say they are waiting for the merchant to send them anything. I wonder why these same merchants only have trouble contacting this website, but none of the other websites. Hmm.

When I finally showed them all the proof they needed that I did make the purchase that is missing, most of the time, they simply told me the merchant hasn't confirmed it, so no soup for me. Okay? So what do I do now? I could have used ebates and gotten 3% but you offered me 6% so I went with you and now I get 0%.

They have sometimes accepted my requests and magically found the purchases on their end, but in those cases, they went with the much lower cashback rate than the rate that they offered when I made the purchase. And good luck remembering what rate every single store had on the exact day you made the purchase (at least 7 days ago, because you can't email them until 7 days have passed). And even then, good luck proving to them that their rate was what you say it was.

They also have a very tempting deal where if their rate is not the highest, you tell them someone else has it, and they will give you that same rate plus 25% more cashback as a reward for going with them instead of the higher cashback website. Sounds awesome on paper, but it was a giant pain to actually collect (and I didn't collect).

Again, had trouble even registering the purchases, and then if they found them, they would give me a very low rate, like 3% instead of 9% for example. Then I correct them and say "you were offering 9% that day, and [competing website] was offering 12%, so you should be giving me 12% plus 25% bonus, or 15%"

They asked for a screenshot of the other website. Really? So now I have to keep track of all my purchases, all the emails associated with them, the cashback rate on BeFrugal's website, and now the cashback rate at competitor websites? Even in cases where I had all that info (like for a very specific purchase I made and remembered all the numbers), they put the correct amount in my account, but it says "pending investigation" (meaning I still don't have it and they still don't believe me.) It's been pending for over two months.

Almost every single email they have sent me whenever I contacted them has been preloaded garbage that has been copied and pasted, and it sometimes had nothing to do with what I asked.

I have all sorts of transactions in my account, but they are all "pending investigation" and have been for weeks, except for 1 transaction where the cashback was $2.85. That one is confirmed, but then there is another transaction saying there is MINUS $2.85 for the same store. I didn't even bother asking what the hell that is.

Long story short, their offers are great, and their highest-cashback guarantee is even better. It's tempting to simply only use them from now on because you think will always get the best rate, but talk is cheap. It's easy to offer higher cashback when you don't have to pay in the end. You need to be ultra-dedicated to tracking your purchases, and probably jot down all the relevant details in an excel sheet that you edit on a daily basis. But this is as much work as a second job, so to me, it's not worth it. And there is no guarantee they will pay in the end. They can simply say the merchant denies that a purchase was made.

In the two months and thousands of dollars of purchases I made with them, they still haven't sent me a penny, and my account doesn't even show that they owe me anything. Only a bunch of unconfirmed transactions. Even the introduction reward of $10 when you make your first purchase! They never even paid me that.

BTW, I started the review by saying I joined BeFrugal when an article recommended it over all the others. It turns out that article was sponsored by them and they paid the author to recommend them. Shadiest company I have ever dealt with.

I have been using their site for shopping for sometime in order to get cash back. I have around 100.00 coming from them but I can't get any help with their website in requesting the money be paid to me. No customer service. Is there anything you can do to help me?

My question about this company is are they cheating people out of the money they have earned through their site? Does anyone check on this company? I feel they get paid through the companies that come aboard with them but then they don't want to pay the people who shop through their site like me.

I referred someone when bonus offer came. She bought so many things from walgreens and amazon but she never got credit for it. She called several times but they keep putting blame on merchants. Bonus of $4 and $10 not available any more. They want help. I agree this is a scam. We are moving out from Befrugal. I referred some time last year. She bought from walgreens every week and from Amazon at least 10 times.

I was so excited to use BeFrugal to save some money on my travel expenses. I diligently kept track of my purchases and waited patiently for over a year to receive my cash back of over $700. However, to my dismay, I never received my cash back. When I contacted the original company that BeFrugal claimed was "pending payment request", they had no idea about these types of companies. It seems that BeFrugal found a loophole in which they can con companies out of money by claiming to advertise for them.

I was so disappointed with BeFrugal's lack of follow-through. They never seem to make good on the cash back for numerous sites. I wasted a year of keeping careful records and using their site. It was such a frustrating experience that I terminated my account and unfortunately all like companies also. I felt like BeFrugal gave Motel 6 a horrible name in my eyes until I contacted them directly and found out that they knew nothing of these sites.

I learned my lesson and now my loyalty stays with the companies directly and not these thieving discount sites. It isn't worth the frustration and time loss and ends with you mad at the companies they claim to represent. Companies like these are making money off the claims that fall through the cracks when people get tired of waiting for their cash back.

In conclusion, I would not recommend BeFrugal to anyone. It is a waste of time and effort to use their site. They promise cash back but never deliver. It is better to go directly to the companies and get the discounts that they offer. Don't fall for the trap of these discount sites.

Here's what the terms said during that time: "Earn 2% Cash Back on sales up to $500 at Target during the Plus Rate Promotional period. Sales exceeding $500 will earn 2% Cash Back on the first $500 and 0.01% on amounts exceeding $500. Plus Rate promotion expires 06-Dec-2020 11:59 PM ET." There's no mention of gift cards, like there usually is. And a few days after I made my purchase, I saw that the cashback was pending in my account. But then BeFrugal reversed it for no reason. I think people should stay away from BeFrugal until they start doing things the right way and stop reversing cashback for no reason. They need to honor the terms and conditions that they post on their site.

So, let me tell you about BeFrugal. They're a website that gets companies to pay them to be on their site. Then, when you use BeFrugal to go to the vendor's site (like Walmart, Home Depot, CVS, and more), the vendor agrees to pay a rebate - a percentage of your sale - to you, the customer. Sounds pretty good, right? Well, here's the thing: if something goes wrong, or the vendor refuses to pay, BeFrugal doesn't pay the customer the percentage. They claim no accountability and respond in endless emails, but at the end of the day, the customer loses out.

I can't believe there isn't a class action lawsuit against this company. We're only talking pennies to maybe a dollar sometimes, and they don't step up and make good. Let me give you an example: I did some pictures through CVS. I proved the transaction ID to BeFrugal, I had a copy of the receipt from CVS, and it was just pictures - reprints, in fact. But BeFrugal first tried to say it was my fault, which I proved was wrong with their tracking ID number. Then they said it was CVS's refusal, but with no explanation why. It's basically bait and switch. What they're doing is against the law, but I don't have the money to take them to court just to prove a point. They get their money, but they don't fight to get your money. There's no accountability on their part.

I hope this review helps others. BeFrugal might seem like a good idea, but in reality, it's just not worth the hassle. You might save a few pennies here and there, but is it really worth the risk of not getting your rebate? I don't think so.

But here we are, months later, and the money is still showing as "pending." I asked if I could speak to a supervisor or get an email address for the department in charge of AT&T's affiliate marketing, but "Todd" (who I'm pretty sure is a robot, but whatever) told me that wasn't possible. I just have to wait and hope for the best. It's frustrating, to say the least.

I mean, BeFrugal is making all these promises about cashback and rewards, but when it comes down to it, they're not actually taking any responsibility for making sure their users get paid. And that's not even the worst part. Todd also told me that BeFrugal doesn't actually make any money from my purchase with AT&T. If that's true, then how are they staying in business? It all seems a little fishy to me.

I've used other cashback sites like Rakuten and Swagbucks before, and I've never had this kind of problem. They usually pay out within 60 days, no questions asked. But with BeFrugal, it's like pulling teeth just to get a straight answer. I'm starting to wonder if they're just pocketing my $100 and hoping I'll forget about it.

As soon as I made the request, I got an email and a text asking me to verify the form of payment by clicking on a particular link. I clicked on the link right away. But, after eight business days, I still hadn't received payment. So, I emailed customer service about the status of my payment. "Todd" replied and told me that payment would be made by the 10th business day after my request for payment. So, I waited. But, fifteen business days later, I still hadn't received payment. So, I emailed "Todd" again. This time, "Todd" said that I had "ignored" their initial request to verify my form of payment and that I would have to wait another 10 business days to receive my Amazon gift card. I was so frustrated because I knew that I had clicked on the link to verify my form of payment right away. It seemed like "Todd" was lying to me. If it were true, why didn't "Todd" ask me to verify my form of payment the first time I made an inquiry? I requested payment (and verified my form of payment) on January 2nd. Today is January 26th and I still have not received my funds. It's obvious that BeFrugal is manufacturing obstacles in order to avoid making disbursements. I would not recommend using BeFrugal. There are plenty of other cash back portals out there that will not hold your cash back hostage.

And when I reached out to BeFrugal to ask what was up, they gave me some excuse about how according to the vendor, I didn't use the BeFrugal links. But like, come on. I know I used the right links. It just felt like BeFrugal was looking for any excuse not to give me my money.

And it's not just me, either. I've heard from other people who've had similar experiences with BeFrugal. They'll offer these big cashback rates for certain purchases, but then when it comes time to actually pay up, they'll find some reason not to. It's frustrating, to say the least.

I gotta say, I was pretty excited to use BeFrugal for my Black Friday shopping this year. I mean, who doesn't love cashback, right? So, I went ahead and made a $200 purchase, expecting to get a sweet 11% cashback. But, lo and behold, the cashback never made it to my account. I reached out to "Todd" from BeFrugal, and he told me that I either wasn't logged in or never activated the cashback. But, here's the thing - I always screenshot my purchases with the banner stating that the cashback was activated. I told "Todd" this, but he refused to give me a way to provide this physical evidence. So, basically, I got zero cashback for my $200 purchase. Bummer, right?

But, that's not all. I also have another investigation for almost $90 cashback that has been pending for a year. A whole year! I keep requesting updates, but I never get any. "Todd" just tells me that the company hasn't responded, so they can't give me any updates. But, get this - the shopping trip is in my account, and I can prove that the full order went through and the full amount has been paid. However, they won't let me provide any evidence, and they're just accepting that the company hasn't responded. So, basically, I'm just stuck in limbo until the company decides to respond.

It's funny how the little cashbacks of a few dollars here and there are never an issue, but as soon as there's a possibility for some substantial cashback, there's always an issue. I mean, come on, BeFrugal, get your act together. I've had much better luck with Ebates/Rakuten cashback. Sure, it's less, but at least you actually get the cashback.

BeFrugal makes it easy to not pay big cash backs by not giving the consumer any information to resolve a matter of payment.

In my opinion an investigation should be made of the way this company does its business.

In my opinion a Class action should be filed by those who feel they have been taken by this company by not paying out money due to consumers.

I have been sick the last two months and just got around to make my situation public.

All I ask is this company pay me what was due me.

We seem to have an ongoing problem with Dell and your company. It appears something is wrong what is going on and I need someone to talk with Dell.

You and I have gotten nowhere regarding this process by you only telling me it is computer generated.

Before I contact various consumer sites I give you a final chance to give me information "who" you have an agreement with Dell so I can put this matter to bed.

Let's say if your company was not paid a commission you would have no one to have contact with to be paid.

Get prepared for an investigation if you can't be a company with giving consumers needed information when they have been denied for a considerable amount of money back.

Again your reply simply amazes me and I presume you or your CEO will have to explain this to some consumer authorities who investigate strange practices by companies like BeFrugal.

Never expect to get more cash back from them or any at all. Information on their website is tricky and really may make you think you will get something. But they are cheaters. Yes, rates are decent, but it's simply pictures that have nothing to do with the real situation. I doubt you will get cash back.
If you want something in return, I would recommend you to do it on other websites.

Company will not honor cashback. I signed myself up, and made my purchase. I sent my referral link to a family member and then completed registration for him from that link and completed a purchase from it. Befrugal has adamently refused to pay saying they have no record of a referal. Even though we still have the opened email referral in the inbox. On another company review site they responded saying that I should contact customer service to correct their system glitch and customer service still refused, sending the same generic response. Do not use this company. Ebates is tried and true.

I requested a payment from BeFrugal on January 5. Few minutes later I received a message stating I need to verify the form of payment. I did as they said, but nothing happened. Several days later I still had not received the payment. I contacted Befrugal support and asked about the status of my payment. They said that everything will be fine and it usually takes 10 business days. 10 more days passed and I still had not received it. Then I contacted them again and was told that I never verified my form of payment. If things he said were true he would have told me about it earlier. So this was just a lie. It is now January 27 and I received nothing yet. I'm so disappointed and have no idea what to do now. Do not trust Befrugal.

I wanted to get some coupons and decided to use befrugal to do it. So I did a click it automatically started downloading something. It was some strange program that totally changed my toolbar. Then my pc went crazy. I guess there was a virus in that program. I tried to delete it, but it was impossible. My pc started opening new windows. I tried to close them, but as I was closing one window, another one opened automatically. It has locked up my computer to the point of needing to shut down and restart. I tried removing the program again but it was useless. Then I scanned my PC on viruses and I wasn't surprised when my antivirus found something. Then something strange happened and the screen turned black. Now I have to repair my pc and I'm very angry. I used it for work, and now it's all gone. I tried to save few bucks, but now I have to buy a new pc. Don't use that site! It is full of viruses and very dangerous. I'm very disappointed, sad and angry at the same time!
