1. I inquired with Angie’s List regarding bathroom remodels. They told me that anyone on their list in Florida doing a bathroom remodel would be licensed and insured. From their list, I hired and contracted with B&B Remodelation LLC and spoke with Robert and Isabela who confirmed that they were license and insured. I contracted with B&B Remodelation LLC on June 14, 2022 and gave an initial deposit. I also contracted with them to re-tile my bedroom floor.

2. On or about July 7, 2022 all work was complete and appeared satisfactory.

3. October 13, 2022, I noticed water of my first floor ceiling in three rooms below my newly remodeled bathroom.

4. I contacted Robert Ortiz the next day, October 14, 2022, to come out to look at the issues.

5. Mr. Ortiz came to look at the damage and appeared dumbfounded and tried to blame it on everything else he could think of, other than the work he did. This was not a good sign as to how he was going to take responsibility. He told me he would come with his plumber on Monday.

6. On October 17, 2022, Mr. Ortiz comes out with his plumber. They looked in the cabinets, looked under my jacuzzi tub, but they do not do any water testing. They told me that they can’t figure out the problem and tell me nothing is leaking and that the floor underneath was not wet. It was wet and it was obvious to anyone. Mr. Ortiz now tells me “the plumber in charge will come out in a week and a half.” I told him that was unacceptable due to my concerns of mold, flooding, etc. I explained if he could not get someone else out to examine, I was going to hire someone at his expense. Later that day I followed up and he stated he was working on it. I never heard from him again.

7. October 18, 2022 and October 19, 2022 I sent a (emails) letters reiterating what the facts were.

8. October 19, 2022, I had House Electric and Plumbing come out to identify the issue. They indicated that the shower half wall was heavy pooling water that was leaking from the shower down into the first floor of the residence. Also it was discovered later that the shower was not sealed properly. The was a gap underneath the marble step to get into the shower. This was part of the problem as well. The glass doors were also not sealed properly and water was escaping from them also. Attached please find photographs of what was not sealed. I have a video of the rest for court. See attached email, photographs and bill as

9. I exchanged numerous texts with Mr. Ortiz starting on October 20, 2022, explaining that it is a shower issue. He wanted to bring “a specialist” out to look. I told me I needed his license and insurance information as I might have to make a claim. He said he would provide. He never provided. I had an attorney I work with get in touch with him and Isabella who also went back and forth telling her they were going to get us the license and insurance proof. Even with a deadline, they never produced it.

10. October 21, 2022, I had another licensed and insured contractor come out to confirm the issue. Carlos Dipauli. He came up with the same issues as the first company. Both of these contractors did extensive testing. I hired Mr. Dipauli to correct the work.

11. I previously filed a complaint with Angie’s List. On or about October 24, 2022, The Angie’s List Case Manager, Jeffery Salazar indicated they did not receive a response from B&B Remodelation LLC., therefore they put exclusions on their account. The company also did not respond to Angie’s List’s audit. As a result, an additional exclusion was added for Failed Licensing Audit. Unfortunately Angie’s List requires the contractors to “self attest” to licensing and insurance.

12. I sent a demand certified mail and regular mail to B&B Remodelation LLC on November 29, 2022 demanding $1,504.00 by December 8, 2022. Never heard from him.

13. I was extremely generous with the demand amount and stunned that he would not pay. I am hoping that the problem is solved as I chose to not take the whole shower apart which would be more expensive to add a new wall. There were so many other issues with the tile he installed cracking, the grout crumbling etc. that is going to have to be corrected as well in the future.

Mr. Ortiz/B&B Remodelation LLC fraudulently mispresented themselves to both me (the public), the State of Florida and Angie’s List.

Desired outcome: Pay me for all expenses incurred, including court costs.
