We stayed at Barceló Bávaro Palace Punta Cana (Premium Level) and it was a complete disappointment from start to finish.

The air conditioning didn’t work in most restaurants. It was extremely hot, and no one offered any help. They told us to go to the buffet instead — which was full of flies, reheated food, and rude staff.

The power went out constantly, leaving us without air, lights, or music. It felt more like a haunted castle than a luxury resort.

The pool bar closes at 6 p.m., the main pool and kids’ play areas were closed for maintenance, and the Kids Club was depressing: everything dark and silent, two empty play areas, and bored staff doing nothing while kids watched TV.

There were cockroaches everywhere. In the Mexican restaurant, I even found a piece of plastic bag inside my fajita — disgusting! Clearly, they reheat leftovers.

There’s a terrible sewage smell throughout the resort.

The shows and entertainment are awful — most nights it’s just karaoke with guests. The hotel’s ads show “Mickey” characters and family performances at the theater, but that never happens. Total false advertising.

The spa isn’t fully working, elevators have no air conditioning, and even restaurants are stifling hot. The beach chairs are old, broken, and uncomfortable, with no premium area at all.

They even cut the grass during nap time, making it impossible for my baby to sleep. And if you’re traveling with a child under two, be aware that there’s no healthy or good-quality food for babies.

There’s nowhere to have a snack, coffee, or something sweet in the afternoon — only the Sport Bar, which serves sausages, hamburgers, and sodas.

When we complained at the Premium lobby, the first woman laughed in our faces. The next day, a manager named Gertrudis assigned us a “butler” who did absolutely nothing — he just sent a plate of fruit to our room.

We paid for a Premium experience and got a complete scam.
Do not stay here. They ruined our vacation.
