Do not buy a car online from the fraudsters at Autobedrijf van Schie. They advertised a 2016 Nissan Leaf on their website for 15,400 euro. Internet purchases were offered a 50% discount on their 12 month extended warranty.
I contacted their sales team on a Friday and began working with their sales person Martjin. I informed him I would like to purchase the vehicle but I made an of offer of 15,000 including the 12 month extended warranty.
I was informed they could not sell the car at that price. They made a counter offer of 15,400 including the legal warranty. Well, I assumed when they responded the offer was for the same warranty that I requested in my initial offer. So, I accepted the offer under this assumption.
Later that day when the order arrived for me to sign, I noticed they had crossed out the 12 month BOVAG warranty and only had a 3 month minimum legal warranty on the car.
So Martjin had responded to my offer by changing the warranty to meet a price that I would accept.
I responded on Friday that this was not what I wanted. I was then offered a 3 month warranty that covered the battery and motor, I again said I was looking for the 12 month warranty. Martjin told me I would not be able to pick up the car until Monday because of some paperwork.
I informed him Monday I would pay the full asking price for the car, and the warranty and that I just wanted to get the order over with.
He then sent me a link to a DIFFERENT vehicle, priced at 2,000 euro more. He said they "sold the car on Saturday" in regards to the order I was holding in my hand.
So they sent me an order for a car, and payment instructions, then supposedly sold the car to someone on Saturday, and yet I couldn't have picked it up on Saturday? Then they send me a more expensive model that's available? Autobedrijf van Schie is using bait and switch advertising, fraudulent listing practices and deceptive sales practices.
Do not buy a car from Autobedrijf van Schie, they deserve less than zero stars. I will be filing formal complaints with the regulatory bodies in the Netherlands regarding advertising practices of automotive dealers.
Country of complaint: Netherlands
Desired outcome: That they cease all deceptive advertising and hopefully close their business
