I have been a loyal customer of Coles for over 50 years. In recent times, since the introduction of self service, the lack of face to face customer service has declined significantly. During these testing times with COVID, we shop early to avoid large amounts of customers. We shop around 7.30am and by the time we finish it is maybe 8.15am. There is no face to face checkout! We have been told to go to express 12 items or less. There is no space when you have a trolley full of groceries or they say someone will put it through self service which is the same problem. We don't shop at Coles every week now but do a large shop for safety precautions. Why isn't there normal checkouts open in the morning? Is it all about profit and not the customers needs? Surely providing an excellent customer experience is important. Why should we have to ask to have someone on checkout? It has happened a number of times now. We are fed up and thinking of just shopping at our local IGA. They have at least one and if the line is busy they automatically call for another to open. Shame on you Coles!
Desired outcome: For Coles to think of customers and provide a good service like they used to.
