My experience today at coles engadine was absolutely not acceptable as a previous loyal customer.
Being a new mum and just recently started bottle feeding my newborn with the aptamil gold formula plus which I found it easy to purchase, I noticed just recently there are coles security lids on these tins that require a special device at the counter (which now I cannot go through self service) to remove it. Today I paid for my items and the checkout lady needed help to ‘undo' the coles security lid on the formula, however after numerous attempts could not do this, it then took another 2 male staff members (one quite built) to attempt to remove the lid but to no avail.. Then after half hour (meanwhile I am still waiting at the checkout with my newborn baby in the pram and thank god was only 1 tin I was buying) he went out the back to try and ‘crack' it open.. But hey!.. No success... He then returned and apologised and offered to get it refunded (which I am still waiting for it to hit my credit card). Meanwhile I am without food for my baby.. What do I do?, she is about to wake up hungry and cry her heart out you can imagine a new mums stress levels by this time. So I then went to your competition (woolworths) who had absolutely no formula on the shelf because the ‘chinese' have cleared them out. Good on yas for putting a control in place however best to check your quality of security and how convenient it is for your staff and customers to warrant selling it with this security lid. Therefore after this stressful situation I experienced today at your store I appreciate some sort of compensation that will draw me back as your customer and prevent me from talking about this experience at mothers group. I really hope I can get the formula online without issue if I choose to come back.
