First saw Sarah Santillano MD in early October 2024 after waiting 2 months for a visit. Examined my vascular ulcer LLE, did 0. Got in post long wait in late March 2025, ulcer much worse for inattention/referral. She did 0 til I demanded some referral so she sent me to Asc Wound Care. So I sought out vascular specialist April-May 2025, got surg date but MD had to cancel. So I sought referral to vascular from Santillano who refused to refer stat to OU Med saying she was aware I was changing PCPs but Asc has not furnished my Med records now for 3 weeks to StFrancis MD.
Failure to refer/ inattention = medical negligence/incompetence/actionable and disgraceful.
This MD should be warned or sanctioned by those she has to respond to. As daughter of 2 MDs who both taught at Baylor Med, I'm shocked and I"m the worse for her failure to recognize and appropriately refer when I asked repeatedly for referral.
What's going on at Ascension? I see now from Asc web site you actually have cardio / vascular dept but it never occurred to refer me to group that could assist in curing the problem rather than just wound care for her long neglect of the vasc. ulcer that is an ongoing symptom of the larger problem. She's a MD, isn't she?
It has been 11 months since I first called to get an appointment for a pinprick ulcer which has now developed due to her inattention and neglect into a full-blown nasty dangerous vascular ulcer at the left inner ankle. I have to go serially to Wound Care. I have to try to get vascular surgery while this woman refuses even to send a stat referral to the OU team I identified for her, demanding I go @15 miles + to her transferred Owasso office. She ignored the problem repeatedly and refuses referral on the pretext I'm changing PCPs, but you, Asension, can't even expedite the records transfer so I'm unattended and getting worse. Delay at your peril.

Claimed loss: Treatment to resolve the vascular problem is still not received due to PCP's chronic neglect/ failure to identify an underlying cause even after I stated I had a hx of vascular malaise.
Desired outcome: This PCP needs more education in her field of choice. I expect a prompt response from you and also resolution of her dereliction or this matter becomes very public.
