We purchased a Timeshare from ARI Holiday Network back in 1994, shortly there after fees begin to ascend. In 1999 they implemented new admin fees.
With poor to non existent customer service and fees escalating out of control, We decided to abandon ship.
Not only did We loose our timeshare but to this day collection agencies harass Us for back fees, to the point that a Lien is now on our property.
If anybody knows of a class action suit, Please let me know. There was one filed in Cook county in 2008 for unjust fees, but I don't know if it is still ongoing.

While there are indeed many valid testimonies about timeshare nightmares, the most important thing to bear in mind is that the majority of them could have been avoided by taking into account the following advice. http://timeshareadvocates.org/how-to-avoid-a-timeshare-nightmare/

I agree with all of the comments above. I also have been suckered, and treated like garbage by everyone at ARI. I was satisfied with the program at one point, but after being tricked into converting to points in 2013, I have received zero customer service. As with one of the previous comments I had a buyer (trade-in on another membership). The buying company paid three years of maintenance fees (2015, 2016 & 2017) before being denied the transfer. ARI says because it was a company (not a person) and out of country they wouldn't let the transfer go through, now I'm stuck with it again. Now ARI is telling me that they'll "let me" convert to a 10 year contract for another $3200 (on top of the useless $3200 I paid to convert to points)...I'd still have it for 10 years, but it's better than a lifetime, they say. I don't want to give these crooks one more dime. Has anyone had any luck getting out of it?

https://www.finnlawgroup.com/ can probably get you out, but will cost. JenS1234 $3200 for 10 years sounds good, but what about maint. fees for 10 years? Wouldn't trust scam report website.
