Job number 499679 You want us to sign a check for $36.00 for damages of $600? I don’t think so. You are as stupid as the immigrant movers you send. They damaged or lost important household valuables that we looked up the prices and sent you pictures of. You should be driven out of business! No on should ever use you! It would have been cheaper for us to sell or stuff and buy not when we got to the other state.
Desired outcome: HORRIBLE!!
processing of damage claim from official van lines move
As per other complaints on this site, Anthem Claims Management (ACM) is basically a front company created to limit damage claims from unreliable moving companies. I thought I had done my due diligence when I contracted with Official Van Lines- boy was I wrong.
In my case, the whole claims exercise is designed to do nothing but frustrate customers until they give up. Specifically I was told on several occasions by Official Van Lines, also an unreliable company, that I had 9 months to file a claim. I was originally instructed to submit a claim to Official Van Lines, the strategy there is just not to respond to the email. When when there was no response from Official Van Lines, I started followed up and was given the information for ACM to file the claim.
When the driver delivered my belongings, he insisted that I sign the inventory sheet before he left- pretty standard practice in the industry. On the comment section of each page there is a big note- damages pending. There is no way a complete inventory of damage can be compiled during the unloading process. After a very frustrating process- designed only to delay any action, ACM decided that because I did not have the opportunity to do a complete inventory by the time the driver insisted on me signing the inventory sheet, my claims were voided.
If ACM were a legitimate company and this were a legitimate response, they would have said the claim was voided months ago when they received a copy of the inventory sheet. This is nothing more than another tactic to avoid paying claims. Also- the arbitration company ACM will refer you to for appeals, they are a shame company like Official Van Lines and ACM. Save yourself time and trouble.
Lost Items
I used Best Price Moving & Storage to move from Illinois to New York. It was the worst company I ever dealt with. Items were lost, broken and damaged, they were sent from Chicago to Las Vegas then to me and they claim to have insurance that covers all of it and the company just sent me a letter stating that they are not an insurance company. The company is Anthem Claims Management, 2351 W. Momorial Court, Anthem, AZ 85086 and they claim being that I packed it they are not responsible. I have boxes that are missing and a Jazzy wheel chair that was damaged, a grill and a lot of other things. I still haven't heard if they are going to pay me for anything at all but the damage is over $1000.00 and they have no phone # on the letter they sent me.

Failure to pay clams
Both companies are fraudulet. Interstate charged me over 200% of the move quote. Held my furniture hostage until paid.
In addition, damages came to over $4, 000 dollars on my furniture. They only gave me the nmeof Antem Claim Mgmt. who offerre me around 126.00 to settle-even before they hadth entire claim. The are all in this together- along with Baker Moving Network out of California. I am stllaiting on a settlment. The number for claims on th bck of Intrstates correspondence is not a workingnumber.

Claims
Pn May 31, 2008 Authorized Movers picked up my household goods in Nebo, NC to be delivered in IL within 2-3 days. After many many phone calls and many excuses on their part (including that the drivers was deported, they didn't have a key for the truck, to finally they could not find my things.) On September 15, I got a call from a man in NJ. He said he had just purchased a warehouse and found my stuff. I had paid Authorized by American Express. I had filed a dispute with them (Amex) because I had given up on ever getting my stuff. ( Note: When you hire a mover, you must relaize that your things are worth far more than it costs to move them. Mine were worth much more.) So this man in NJ says he will deliver my stuff for $1000. He had no paperwork and had found my name on one of the cartons. He urged me to file a claim against Authorized Movers because my furniture was broken and my mattress and box springs were moldy.
So my things were delivered. The mattress and box springs were moldy and mildewed. All of the carons looked as if they had been sitting out in the rain. Muddy and collapsing. My knee hole desk was broken in two. Several chairs were broken. My bedroom furniture was scratched and has deep goudges. So I filed a claim.
ANTHEM CLAIMS MANAGEMENT denied my claim. First saying that I had signed paperwork saying everything was delivered in good condition. (Impossible) Second, that American Express had settled the dispute by crediting my account.
ANTHEM CLAIMS MANAGEMENT BRAGS ON THEIR WEBSITE THAT THEY DENY 97% OF THEIR CLAIMS! There is virtually no oversight on this business and they get away with everything they can.
January 30, 2014 This place needs to be shut down. I have lost items that can never be replaced. I am disgusted by these people. Nothing more to add. Actions speak louder than words. They will pay.
I, too had a van line service delivery my belongings to another state. the story is the same, I was overcharged and none of my furniture that was quoted was actually boxed and delivered. I called time after time and they quickly want you off the phone. I had so many personal items missplaced that, Ive literally gotten stressed out. My little girl had so many dolls from birth until now, and the crazy thing a whole table disappered. Imagine that. Don't stop at Anthems Claims write the arrorney general, go to the legal aid, there is no way we all have same or similar stories. I paid over 2400.00 to end having to pay an additional 1500.00 for things left in my previous state. They ask for photos and this and that and you get nothing in return. The company Lond distance Vanlines lied, overcharged, damaged and yes lost my belongings. The same guy or supervisor never answer the phone and when he does its way for Anthem. Please even though it is time consuming write the attorny general, go to legal aid, don't let someone else be a victim. Once again one of the boxes misplaced was my babygirl's favorite doll she cried for days. So, I'm standing up, I suggest you too do the same.
After losing my Ultra Jet 3 motorized wheel chair, and having my curio cabinet destroyed and several of my boxes, crushed and broken furniture, I was offered a mere $108 for compensation. This was adding insult to injury, I thought.
Ori Van lines did me one diservice with all of the missing and damaged pieces but Anthem did the final insult with their offer of $108.
The wheel chair is my lifeline. Not to mention it was an investment of more than $5, 000.00. I can't prove it but I know in my heart that Ori and their Universal movers in California stole my things and probably have a site where they sell off these items from moves.
How can we, the poor victom be protected?
Hi,
Anthem's website says they have been "winning 97% of chargebacks".
Chargebacks are from Credit Card companies, not claim filers.
They don't provide insurance
Don' t use Budget Van Lines. They are a broker even though they have they use "Van Lines" in their name. They broker you to another company who picks up your things. They sent Star Box Van Lines to pick up my items. Star Box charge us 3 times what Budget quoted us and wanted cash. Then when they delivered, they stuffed things in my garage and I was pregnant at the time and had no way of moving it myself. I called back Budget and they told me that they had already spoken to Star Box about this and they were very sorry and wanted to come back and fix it. I told them I did not want Star Box back in my house. I also asked them to explain how we were charged 3x as much and they said they would check with Star Box and call me back. They NEVER return my phone calls and have never given me an answer. One last thing. My husband and I took out $.60/per pound of insurance. Star Box scratched and gouged my bedroom suite, scratched my wood floors, dropped our big screen television, scratched and dented our bombay chest. It was about $2500 worth of damage. THEIR private insurance company, Anthem Claim Management, LLC offered my $78 dollars and said that our things had depreciated. I believe all three companies are connected and they are running a scam.
This company is a complete joke, they stall for weeks on end then ask for more information like more photos hoping you will gave thrown damaged items and boxes out by then . They have no intention of settling your claim , it’s a SCAM ! BE WARNED
Hi All,
I have started to put together evidences from all those who had bad experiences with ANTHEM CLAIM MANAGEMENT LLC. I personally want to sue this company. Any document and evidences from you will help me a lot. Please send your short story to this email (boedavid5@gmail.com). Thanks!
Plllleeeease. If the person defending Anthem Claim Management, LLC is not on drugs maybe they should be. Companies like Anthem Claims, LLC are set up having full knowledge of the scam artists they are servicing. No respecting moving company uses a "claim service company" unless they are self-insured and or under-insured. Legitimate movers are fully insured and the insurers use their own adjusters. This is a fact, not an assumption or guess on my part. The forwarders and actual "scam artists" movers USE companies like Anthem Claim to delay and defraud millions of dollars from unsuspecting people and families. In fact, Anthem is not actually anything more than a shill for these low-life movers that prey on people who can least afford it. One entry here even goes so far as to pinpoint the Jewish/Israeli "connection" as being the sole benefactors here. While this isn't exactly a 100% accurate statement, it is, I am ashamed to say, not far from the truth. And for me to say this with a name like Eisenberg says something about these low-life’s. I urge anyone that reads my statement to contact me with their horror story and I will personally look into it for no charge and tell you if you have a way to recoup anything or not. Be prepared to offer contractual information, names, dates, correspondence, and verification of payment(s). Contact me, Neil Eisenberg, at corporateavarice@gmail.com.
Yep. I'm on the bandwagon. Thought I'd save money by using a broker. USA Moving Group. Got Moving Express out of New Jersey to pack and pickup my stuff. And STUFF they did! Stuffed it into their truck! And charged me for 8000 pounds when I only had 4000, verified by a previous move. Delivered by Yoga Transport. Straight out of the "Going Out of Business" store from "You don't mess with the Zohan" movie. As soon as these guys finished unloading my stuff I couldn't wait to sign just to get rid of them. Then as I'm unpacking I'm finding a lot of broken stuff. I filed a claim with Anthem, complete with pictures. They 'politically correctly' denied my claim stating that I signed the bill of lading acknowledging shipment was received in good condition. In other words; and sing this like you were a second grader in the playground; neener neener neener, yoooooou siiiiiiighned! But you can request arbitration. Yea, right. More hoops to jump through.
I moved from Pennsylvania to Texas with so called Budget Van Lines, who then sub contracted to Puma Van Lines. I am not normally prejudice, however, when the 2 mexican men showed up in an unmarked box truck and not the semi I was told they would be driving, I should have shut the door, my story matches everyone else's. Isn't there an attorney out there who could represent all of us as a class action? I have proof of breach of contract, but that doesn't bring back the things my father gave me, who is now deceased. A single voice gets unheard, but a 1000? can anyone help us?
Complete fraud. Most has been said already but the bottom-line is Anthem is a dishonest operation. Jonathan Lloyd and others...how do you sleep at night.? I was told they regularly move motorcycles...much to my surprise. They said they build a crate around the bike to protect it. Despite this assurance, I still chose to pay extra to get full replacement coverage on the bike. Of course a crate was not built around the bike and it was damaged. They expect me to take the bike, in the middle of winter, to three body shops to get estimates to repair the dents. It's been close to 90 days before they responded to my claim. They expect me to accept putty and bond on my once pristine Harley. Not to mention, Harley does not release their paint codes to body shops to the paint match will be off. I paid extra for the "right" kind of insurance and now they are giving me the runaround. Crooks all. Slime balls all. Wish someone could run these types of operations out of business.
the website that was deleted if [redacted] all one word. cjs
Please contact me if you actually file suit. I have lots of info on this guy at Anthem. I lost over 15, 000.00 worth of belongings and Anthem never paid a dime. File a criminal complaint with your local police--then call your homeowners insurance and file under theft and vandalism, etc. You will have to convince your Homeowners that it is criminal, but then it shouldn't be hard to prove with all of these complaints on line and the police report. Dont' let the police off with a claim that it is civil. This is actually organized crime. Also go to /link removed/ and file a report and read the ones there. You can contact me through this website or [redacted]. or at P.O. Box 933 Danville, KY 40423 Sorry to be so vague about my contact info, but Robin Ware at Anthem has threatened me and I have to be careful. File a complaint with the US Dept of Transportation. They too, will try to put you off, but insist. Also the BBB in Phoenix, AZ See the complaints there, too. CJS
It would definitely be a good thing to not only put these companies out of business, but toss the crooks who run them into jail where they belong. How have they avoided this? We have been screwed over by American Trusted Movers, Inc. (have to see the humor in their name) and Anthem Claim Management, LLC. When the movers arrived to load our funiture, they brought too small a truck even though they had an itemized inventory of what was being moved. When they couldn't fit everything on this truck, they said that we had to pay them another $1600 or they would take our things that were on the one truck and just leave everything else behind. I thought extortion was a crime! Since we were moving 500 miles away and it was already hours past the time we needed to leave, and they refused to unload our furniture that they already had in the truck, we had to pay them. And this was just the BEGINNING OF THE NIGHTMARE of dealing with American Trusted Movers, Inc. Two days later when they delivered the first load, they insisted we pay them IN CASH because they needed gas money to get home. They would not unload anything until I paid them. UNBELIEVABLE! Our things were incredibly damaged - they even dented the front of a new Stainless Steel Samsung refrigerator - and that is not an easy thing to do. Antiques that I cannot replace have been ruined. There is a hole in our leather sofa and chunks missing from our Oak bedroom furniture. The list is long with hardly any of our furniture escaping damage. It's going to cost us a few thousand dollars to repair the things that can be repaired; some things cannot be repaired and are total loses. After waiting almost 3 months, we get this letter from Anthem Claim Management telling us they will give us $75.00. Apparently from what I'm seeing here, Arbitration is a joke. SO WHAT DO WE DO? Surely we can all join together and file a class action lawsuit. I'm going to talk to our attorney on this one.
It is not really clear how I can help you. Can you be more specific. I have a lot of information on ACM and all the other companies that are owned by Robin Ware. Any Moving Association listed on his website is also owned by him. The addresses of the Moving Associations are actually located at a private mailing center near him and the suite numbers are just the box numbers. Also the arbitration is a fake--it is located at a mailing center also and has no actual address. The "arbitrator" is an insurance salesman. Any business entity listed at ACM website is a "business" owned by Robin Ware. There definitely is a conflict of interest when he ownes the moving association that the rogue movers belong to and also the Claims processing (ACM) company that then denies the claims against those moving companies. In essence, it is like the old mob protection paid to Ware and this is a national gang of thieves. It is a terrible web of deceit perpetrated on the unsuspecting public. I lost over 15, 000 dollars worth of furniture, tvs, cases of wine, antiques, etc and never got a dime from the claim filed with ACM. Did you read my complaint on this site? cjs

Anthem Claim Management (ACM) is a third party, household goods claim administrator, hired by Mr. Margrif's moving company (Carrier) to process transit related damage/loss claims. ACM is not an insurance company or a moving company.
Mr. Margrif filed a claim which was acknowledged within 2 weeks of receipt and processed within 30 days, well within the 120-day window permitted by federal law. The claim was reviewed by a qualified analyst, certified by the American Moving & Storage Association (now the American Trucking Association). The coverage recommended was consistent with the Carrier’s tariff, including published exclusions, and the level of valuation coverage selected on the bill of lading. In the present case, Mr. Margrif selected the free limited liability valuation coverage, which establishes the maximum carrier liability at $0.60 per pound, per article, for eligible items.
ACM is required to adhere to the contract terms, including the level of coverage selected by the customer and published exclusions, and may only consider actual damage when processing claims. ACM cannot recommend coverage exceeding the contract terms. Mr. Margrif has been made aware of his right to pursue arbitration with their mover.
