We have been paying for this policy since 1988. We have paid $62.70/month for this length of time - 37 years. This totals almost $28,000. I received a notice in August that I had to pay $901.10, or the policy would lapse. When I called to inquire, I was told that they could not tell me the cost of insurance until October, and that I owed $1175.44 for the policy to be in effect through December. So I paid that amount, but the premium notices that I am getting now, say that I owe 188.10/month (the $62.70 amount). Now I am told that they cannot change the amount on the notice unless I specifically ask them to. It has all been so, so frustrating. The customer service people are not the least bit friendly, and not really that helpful. None of the transactions or information can be done online. What can a person do?
