Alpine credit advertisements is false advertising
“home equity loans from alpine credits are the fastest and easiest way to get money from your home regardless of your income or credit history. Contact us today!” alpine credit .Ca
“if you are a homeowner, secure your loan with the equity in your home. Call us today or apply online and our dedicated lending adviser will help you get a loan you need. Unlike the banks, we can often have your loan approved the very same day, regardless of your credit.”
“need to borrow money? Your credit, age or income are not an issue!”
“a bad credit loan from alpine credits only requires you to be a homeowner. Even if you have bruised credit, poor credit, bad credit or are just self-employed. If you own a home, we can help.”

We applied recently for a loan of $20000.00 to purchase our retirement home, ya it's a fixer upper.
We were turned down a loan based on and i quote “ but ultimately the lenders felt that because you were currently in a consumer proposal your credit score is too damaged to offer a home equity loan” email from one of their employees jonatham tam.
Yep i'm upset because even though we do have damaged credit would we have chosen to apply at alpine credit if we had great credit history, no absolutely not! Above is actual quotes taken from alpine credits site, you'll note they make reference to “regardless of your credit history”. Hey that's good news for folks like us who have run into a hard time. How many times have we seen that goofball on tv approving all those applications, based on my recent experience with alpine credit i've come to the conclusion not only are there advertisement false but their business ethics are false as well. As a side note jonatham did offer this “we do have services available for you to try and rebuild your credit score if that would be something you are interested in with one of our partners” don't ask me what that might be because i didn't get any further info.
So here's what i'm left with, my words, “we won't give you a secured loan with home equity because you have damaged credit but we do have other options…to rebuild your credit, but i won't share that with you because of your damaged credit”

the majority of you voted for far right Doug/rob ford. Does he help us with these unscrupolus businesses like Alpine , the oil change companys , hertz rental etc, Market Place CBC contacted Ford about these rip offs and he more or less sneered at them . FORD NATION ?

Misleading advertising. They approve my home equity loan but at 17% APR compounded constantly, plus fees and other. We declined there "generous" offer, because they offered a home equity loan at high credit card effective interest rate of at least 25%

My wife and I are senior citizens, we both found Alpine to be misleading and unreliable in every regard. This company should never be used, even as a last resort.

In case anyone here have a Reddit account, I strongly advise you to write a review with PersonalFinanceCanada sub because I had to search very hard to see these. Good luck.

The same story here...we knew it was an expensive way to go...close to $8000 in extra fees on top of what we ended up with. Two years later we are in a position to pay them off and they want 3 months interest penalty...a "Hold back" and other fees that total MORE tahn the original loan amount! WTF?

Stay away from Alpine Credits. Up front fees are not explained clearly and ultimately are exorbitant. I wanted to pay out my mortgage and was quoted 3 months interest plus a small discharge fee. The morgage discharge statement which was sent on the last day included a $1, 000 for legal charges. Alpine says that is not us. The law firm says Alpine Credit knows the fact that legal fees are charged but they don't tell their clients. Please understand Alpine is in the business of collecting fees not helping homeowners. Integrity, openness and honesty are not in their vocabulary.

I borrowed money through Alpine Credits last year. I am trying to payout the loan and it seems that they are stalling. The first email to me asked that I send them "a payout request if you are paying out with your own funds; or, if you are electing to use a lawyer/notary, please have them forward me a request." My bank had already done this. I sent them a second email and this is their response: "I am just awaiting approval from the lender. I will continue to try and get a hold of him, but unfortunately I can’t send the statement without his approval." What a pile of nonsense. So not only do they charge exorbitant fees and interest rates, they stall when you try to pay them out. This has been a very expensive learning experience for me.

I borrowed money via my home through alpine. Upon renew, they demanded 1300+ renewal fee, with increased interest rate and handling fee. When I requested to pay off the loan, they took my file to a lawyer the same day and that law firm also demanded 1, 000 in fees.Upon my initial contact they threatened to take me to court
I need help .
