I am writing to report a business misconduct and to make a request for reimbursement of AED 1600 related to the purchase of my Toyota RAV4 from the Airport road showroom in Abu Dhabi on 27 October 2025. Please see attached invoice.
During the negotiation process, 2-year extended, 5-year warranty worth of AED 1600 be provided free of charge instead of the standard 3-year warranty with the cash deal instead of Toyota financing.
I signed the final invoice with his assurance of cash back AED 1600. He asked my bank account info through WhatsApp for the promised money transfer. Attached is the copy of the WhatsApp communication.
Sales representative, Mr Prince Abraham, concluded this deal after consulting with his sales manager. His instruction was to pay the full invoice amount, including the AED 1600 cost of the 5 year extended warranty, with the assurance that this amount will be reimbursed once processed internally by Toyota. Attached is the copy of his hand written commitment.
After multiple follow-ups, he said his job was terminated and so he could no longer process the reimbursement from the company. I then visited the showroom and met to raise this matter first time with Sales Manager Mr Mazem Khalifa on 05 November 2025. He stated that the salesperson has resigned from his position and Toyota doesn’t have any responsibility and it is the salesperson’s responsibility personally. I asked him to elevate this issue to his boss but he refused it.
This response is deeply concerning. The agreement was made in the Toyota’s showroom. The salesperson concluded the deal under his supervisor’s consent. Sales representative was the only person we have dealt from beginning to the end. His actions, statements, and commitments are considered to be those of the company.
Toyota is well renowned company around the world. I absolutely trusted the salesperson of Toyota, even sharing with him my sensitive bank account and the credit card and all my personal information. The AED 1600 discount was a decisive factor in my purchase decision, and I believe it is unjust to shift responsibility away from the company.
I respectfully request Toyota to honor the commitment made by its representative and reimburses the AED 1600 promised. I am confident that Toyota values its reputation and customer satisfaction, and will take necessary steps to resolve this matter fairly.
Best regards,
Sang Shim
