My husband (Ron Wilcox) and I were returning from celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and retirement trip flying into Rome and riding trains to Pompeii, Pisa, Florence, Venice and Milan, flying back to Atlanta, GA in the USA with a connection in Madrid, Spain to JFK airport in NY on 5/7/2024.

I started checking my email messages on 5/5 and 5/6 for check-in information and only received an email from Travelocity (attached) with the Air Europa flight date to a link to View Flight Itinerary. After many attempts and over 2 hours of trying to call Air Europa and eventually left a message for Travelocity, I was unable to talk to a person or check-in online. I attempted to check-in and print boarding passes from the Air Europa site also and kept receiving an error message (attached) which had a link to click to call. The link did not work.

We first realized that our seats were changed for our connecting flight from Madrid, Spain to New York (JFK airport) on 5/7/2024 when we got in line to board at the gate and realized that my seat was (26A) in zone1 and his seat was (31A) in zone 3.

I received a message from Travelocity on March 12 notifying me that our flight from Madrid to New York had changed, but our seats were showing 2.-16B and 16B (attached). My payment details from Travelocity (attached) show that I paid for my chosen seats --$15 for seat 16B and $31 for set 16C. We were not assigned either of these seats.

The person in the seat next to me was kind enough to swap seats with my husband so we could sit together. The seats were so small and that I was squeezed in the middle seat with my arm sweating up against the stranger sitting next to me and my other arm behind my husband's arm. I weight 166 lbs. and the tray table was pushing into my stomach for 1.5 hours until the flight attendants collected the trash from the one meal and no snack that we had and the tv screen was actually 6' from our faces. Even though I have silver medallion status with Delta, I was charged 3.30 Euros when I requested a diet coke when the flight attendant offered drinks (receipt attached).

This flight was the worse experience I've ever had in all of my years of flying on business and pleasure and to fly for 8.5 hours and be charged 3.30 euros for a drink was absolutely absurd.

Country of complaint: United States

Website: aireuropa.com

Desired outcome: Refund of flight, seats and cost of in-flight soft drink ($1,262 +. 3.30 euros)
