I applied for ACORN TV service in October 2023, I set up an account using my debit card on line with Roku TV (they added a surcharge to the original $8.99 a month service fee from ACORN)

I notified ACORN TV via Roku in November 2023 that I did not require there service anymore and cancelled the service, or so I thought. I checked to see if the service had been cancelled by ROKU, they said they had stopped charging me. That much was true. So I contacted ACORN directly and told them to stop service and end my account with them (November 2023) and was told that it would end in December after the last billing.

In Jan. I was billed by ACORN for the monthly fee. I phoned the bank and was told that they only way to stop ACORN from getting paid was to get rid of my current card and get a new one. I did so, now I am out, they have caused me to loose time, money and will NOT answer emails. I have again requested them to reimburse my money. This is the third time I have done so in the last month. They will not acknowledge this claim. I am now looking into civil court .

Claimed loss: $8.99 CAN.

Desired outcome: Return of funds
