Looked into meat delivery a while back. Live in Windsor area. Came across a few companies. One advertised heavily was Nutrafarms but after reading many bad reviews I was turned off. Prices are nowhere to be found and it was impossible to get a detailed price list.
Another one advertised heavily was A Cut Above Meats from London Ontario.
I emailed the company, they emailed me back with a consumption checklist but I asked for a price of a set order with set amounts of lbs per product. Made it very easy for them to price quote me.
A sales rep by the name Al Marcovecchio quoted me $2450 for the full order on January 11 2021. After this he kept emailing me unsolicited with new price quotes, some within the time span of 1 day.
A total of 5 new price quote for the same product. A total of $1050 price increase in less than 2 months.
January 11 2021: $2450
January 18 2021: $2600
January 19 2021: $2700
January 24 2021: $2800
February 19 2021: $3300
March 1 2021: $3500
I'm totally turned off by this company. First of all the original quote seemed extremely over priced, and on top of that price gouging during a global pandemic. I think it's totally disgusting.
Does anyone else has this experience with A Cut Above Meats?
Saw their ads online. Their bulk order program is not worth it. Owner is a tough to deal with, would not give me any prices until I completed a questionnaire. This company looks like another Nutrafarms scam.
Used A Cut Above Meats for 2 years in a row. Quality was good, but service could be a lot better and their prices are indeed a scam. They missed products in my last order which was delivered 2 years ago and never delivered them. The owner himself even promised it to me and but never reached out for delivery or returned my messages.
I now buy from a local farmer in my area and a local fish shop. Products are superior and I'm only paying 60% of price compared to A Cut Above. Anyone living in GTA I would recommend the following farms for beef. They will save you a lot of money it's as local as it gets and straight from the farm!

For Fish:
Farm Club Meats
https://www.farmclubmeats.ca/ They have a big variety of fish, prices are displayed and also offer meat. No big minimum orders. Meat prices are good as well.
A Cut Above Meats is not worth it. Same with Nutrafarms. Makes me think A Cut Above Meats and Nutrafarms must be the same owner, same type of price secrets.

Bought from a Cut above meats 2 years in a row to find out I was over charged by $2000. Do the research and compare online. The sales rep El is a smooth talker but has unethical marketing practices. Checkout Ottawa Valley Meats or Farm Club Meats, they both deliver to Toronto and will save you big time. Also A Cut Above Meats chicken was always tough.
Shawn from Farmway Foods is running this company with a guy named Al. They are scammers from the door-to-door era. Cannot trust people who will say anything to get money in their pockets. A cut Above meat screwed my friend over who ended up paying double the price of Costco for mediocre meat. A cut above meats buys their meat from any other meat vendor in the province, it's all the same. Save your money and go to Costco or buy quality at a local butcher. Don't make scammers rich.
Not worth it. This place is a scam. Person on the phone reminds me of a low life scammer.
