In early August 2022, I received a call from Adrianna, co-owner of 9Round Fitness, located at 7750 Okeechobee Blvd Suite 5, West Palm Beach, FL 33411 about my payment for my 9Round’s membership at the Okeechobee location, because my card expired.
I explained to her that my mother-in-law had died unexpectedly and that I wanted to put my membership on hold. She stated that she would call me back. She never called me back so I just assumed that she did what she said that she would do and put my membership on hold.
To my surprise, a few days later I received a call from a collection agency with 9Round demanding my payment for August. I explained that my membership was placed on hold by the owner in which the representative stated that my account was still active and my payment overdue. I called the studio and left a message for the owners, but no one ever called me back.
I also immediately submitted my cancelation in writing through the online platform titled clubready with the West Palm Beach club designation at the top. Similar to my initial call with Adrianna, my correspondence was not returned.
I have also sent cancelation letters to the studio and corporate office with no reply.
To date, I have received numerous calls from the 9Round’s collection agency stating that I now had two months due, August and September. I explained that I had already canceled my membership and no dues were owed especially since I had not been to the gym since before the August monthly billing date. Once again, I was told that the owners of the Okeechobee location had not canceled my membership as requested.
I must say I am surprised by the owner’s refusal to cancel my membership and their attempts to collect unpaid dues through a collection agency after not returning my calls, email or letter.
In conclusion, I am requesting that my 9Round membership be canceled and documentation provided that it has been canceled.
Desired outcome: Cancel membership and provide documentation that membership was canceled.
