I for certain know that I wouldn't trust my $ to Elitemate.com (and I never did because of their strangely "too good to be true" environment like this:
- daily bombarding with generic emails from a wide range of people of whom many don't read the profile
- better looking women than a realistic random sample
- high price and "fancy web design" (although, ineffective)...
- even with the significant lack of self-description the emails from people are still received as if they're interested, for example: How would you like for $49/month to chat with someone who is 12 years older, smokes, drinks, mismatching height, and lives far away in a different state while you're 20 and health-conscious?!. (extreme, yet accurate, real example). That was the most total mismatch I've ever seen, but the email looked friendly.
WARNING! - Typical pattern: many women most likely get paid by the co. to send emails, tho never have any intention of "personal interest". Proof - specifically I expressed on my free profile that I was not gonna be interested in anyone from either far away or just a different state because of my current lifestyle and then when I deleted my picture (which normally means theoretically that I'm not that interested in finding anyone), but still I was getting frequent emails from random people [women] around the country. So in order to answer to these emails, I would've been required to pay $49 - right... dream on... And also I've heard that some other sites have a similar scheme to which people complained.
Than I joined a more credible site, where I almost got no mail for many days, while my profile on this site was far more competitive and attractive with detailed description of everything than on elitemate.com.
Now, do you see the difference?
Advice: Beware and always detect any apparent pattern of a scam by comparing and questioning why certain things happen or would not be happening and applying it to a realistic situation.
SCAM, stay away. You have been warned!
Furthermore, anyone that feels they have been a victim of this company that has very shady business practices, go here and file a complaint to the FBI
http://www.ic3.gov/
I'd venture to say they already have a few from Elitemate! The more complaints that come in, they WILL start the investigation much sooner.
They're a dating site, not much different than any of the others. Probably make their money off of advertising, but I don't see any 'scams.'
I am giving elitemate.com A MUST AVOID SITE. I was on the site for about 6 months and found at least 100 fraud profiles (correlating with nigerian and russian scam sites). I notified abuse and told them and they CLOSED my account! There is only cyber posers and frauds that steal photos from model site and pose as real people. Do youself a real favor, if your seriously looking and use these site reference the nigerian and Russian scam sites (that have photos) to NOT waste your time. I am out time and money but maybe others will avoid this site and one person avoid what I went through. Also, that site is nothing but a google ad words site that is annoying since the focus is on making ad dollars and NOT helping people make connections. Elitemate.com is shameful shameful.
I totally disagree, I found my love on elitemate!
I have had several girls on this site get in touch with me and when we start to get somewhat close, they ask if I have Yahoo Instant Messenger. As we start to IM one another I find out they are neither who they say they are or even live in the USA. They always seem to be from Lagos Nigeria, West Africa or the UK. Their dad has come under a hostile take over and she has at least 2.5 million in a box that needs to be sent to the USA otherwise she will be killed for it by her deceased fathers partners or her somewhat family that is that country. Once I have the money I will send her some money to fly here to the USA to be with me...yah right. the picture is also not even her at all it is copied and pasted from a model web site, and their profile will say she has blond hair and her picture is clearly black. They also make up the city names and states not expecting us to be SMART, and they are always god fearing, faithful, honest girls, but they are also on just about every dating web site out there with a different name, city, state but the same exact picture...not a very bright group of scam artists. I trust hardly any girl on any dating site now, I have to insist on proof of where they live now before I will give any information about me to them or get excited I found "HER".
Good luck guys, they all don't want love and companionship...a lot of them only want your money!
I closed my account long, long ago, but I still get THOUSANDS of emails from them saying I have hundreds of messages. I have written them many times but they keep coming and coming and cluttering up my junk box. They even sometimes get into my inbox. HOW ANNOYING! Someone should go to jail for this.
My wife has gone to live with her mother because she thinks that I still visit this site. I requested that my account be canceled but instead I received twice the daily e-mails. I hate this site. If there was a way for my to shut it down for messing up my relationship with my wife I would.
I am looking for good man for seriouse relations
natasha = russian bride...next she'll tell you she's "god fearing" and honest lol
I used to work for them! they are a scam website run run away and spread the word! He under pays the people that work for him!
I have been trying to contact these people from this site because I opted out of any emailings about 10 times in a month and still get emails. I emailed the company itself and no answer from them. I asked them to stop sending me emails and I dont get any sort of response at all. It is getting carried away and am trying to figure out how to pursue reporting these people. AVOID this site. Once you put your email in the system it WILL NOT come off.

I am 70+ and I keep getting emails from Elitemate for matches ~~28+ MY GRANDKIDS are that age.
1. you are an idiot for posting your normal email address and not one you made up just for things like this. For your stupidity, I do not feel sorry for all the emails you are receiving
2. Since sites like these as well as any other public site (craigslist) that has you put up contact information are full of scammers, it is a great way to turn the scam around on them. They are so gullible and as long as you keep leading them to believe that they are going to receive some type of payday, you can lead them on for several months. Some will even send you stuff depending on what route you take with your scheme. I personally like to claim that I am the owner of some wealthy art company that gives out scholarships for "upcoming" artists. These "scholarships" are worth anywhere from $25, 000 to $150, 000 and are usually based on some carving or painting that I get them to do. Then I make them mail me the product. Sure, it costs them a few hundred dollars but, to them, it is worth the spending a little to get the bigger payout. If you do try this, make sure you make everything up from emails and contact information to drivers license and fake websites. It can get really in depth, but the end result is satisfying knowing that you at least kept somebody else from getting screwed by keeping their attention for so long. Remember, these guys are criminals and will tell people anything if they think it will get them paid.
There is a website called ShoppingSocialites.com, having nothing to do with a dating site. After I went to signup it took me to Step 2 which was to filll in my profile info to Elitemate.com, Apparently this ShoppingSocialites was just a front for Elitemate and a complete and total lie. Not only that but just by filling out that first signup step I was automatically signed up for Elitemate and I had already gotten 3 emails to my Spam box.
I included a screenshot of the Shopping Socialites website just to show what the "features" of the website listed were. Including, "We find all the most exclusive designer trunk shows, sample sales & consignment shops for a one of a kind virtual, personal shopping experience. We invite you to the the best events we know of from galas to movie premieres, benefits to award shows."
I have no interest in a Dating Site at this time but if I did I wouldn't touch Elitemate with a ten foot pole.
They or someone else managed to get a hold of my default password and sign me up for an account with my alternate email address. I'm not sure which of my accounts are safe now.
