Mr William Beechman has been slow to respond to our e-mails. Our damage deposit was to be refunded within 5 days of check-out and after approximately 2 months we called him because we had not received our refund. He didn’t seem to remember us and asked that we e-mail him with the dates we rented from him. Those dates were 07/29/12 to 08/03/12. We complied with this request on Oct 13 and when we did not hear from him, we sent another e-mail on Nov 14 asking what was the delay? He responded this time saying he had e-mailed previously (which he had not) stating that there was damage to a wall and a broken bar stool. During our stay, we realized one of the bar stools was weak and that the bottom leg brace was missing. We called Mr. Beecham and he said he would bring a replacement. Before he did, the stool collapsed and I landed on the floor. (note there was only 2 seats in rental for eating bar) We called again and Mr Beecham brought a replacement the next day. We are 2 non-smoking and non-drinking adults (ages 65 & 70) and we did not damage a wall & the bar stool was already in poor condition. Mr. Beechum has refused to refund our damage deposit of $150 and stated in his e-mail of Nov. 15 that this was only the 3rd. deposit he has not returned since last May. Are renters that hard on his property or is his property not in good condition?!? We did not damage a wall and, as stated previously, the bar stool was already weak and Mr. Beechum knows this. Please note that we used ‘Home Away’ as our travel agent for access to Mr. Beechum’s rentals. After this, all our contact was with Mr. Beechum for Virginia Beach rental property #3011065 located at 401 22nd. Street, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
