I received the email below and shortly after sending him my resume I was contacted by RDG Careers for a meeting. They are a known scam company for charging thousands recruiting, long story short W.Baxter got my information from Monster.ca

Always research who you are meeting with, I have worked with firms and they NEVER take fees of finding employment - they are paid by the employer. Thanks for all those who took the time to write about RDG - you have helped countless others.

Dear ---

I have recently noticed your online resume. Your background does not match our current needs, however I would like to direct it to one of our affiliate career search firms. They are based out of Toronto and specialize in assisting experienced professionals like yourself. If you wish, please reply to [protected]@williambaxterprojects.com and attach a recent version of your resume.

Best Wishes,

W.Baxter

Hey all,

I got a call from "Rachel" with the number [protected], also directing me to 350 Bay St. 9th floor. She held my line every time I asked a question, including "What is your e-mail address", "Who is the person that will give me an interview" & "What kind of position your company is hosting an interview for". Not to mention I didn't get any answer for all the questions I asked. When I asked for her e-mail address for further questions, "Rachel" didn't give me an e-mail address but their company website - www.torontopathways.com (She spelt it with .ca btw, but I later found out that she couldn't even remember the company website address).

Watch out, it looks like they are scamming under a new name. I will cancel my "interview" tomorrow.

Thank you soo much for your posts. I recieved a call last week from this number and it said Job success on my caller I.D. I screen my calls. I have applied to many jobs but this one I don't remember. I did a search but didn't find anything but I didn't think anything of it. It is Monday morning and I decided to look up this phone number [protected] and it brought me to this page. I found it suspicious from the beginning because like I said I don't remember this so called agency.
Thank you again, I won't even waste my time returning the call back.

I just got a call from the same folks [protected]. They mention I was refered to them, and they have a copy of my resume and would like to speak with me about an exciting career opportunity. I have had firms like this call me in the past, so I advised the lady to destroy my contact details, and I have no interest what so ever to do business with there company. what these guys do is - for a fee of course, and this is ussually $4-6, grand they will re-write your resume, coach you on interviewing, and meeting prospective employers, and send your resume around to there "internal network of what they say are ""Highly successfull" company's who dont advertise for higher callibre people - like yourself...what a crock of bologie. They wont mention names, and play the highly secretive angle, and that you have the potential.
MY Advise - stay as far away from these folks as you can - 100% scam artists.

Thank you for this valuable information. I received a call this morning by a receptionist who made an appointment with me to meet at Job Success next week. The phone number she called from was [protected] and left a phone number for [protected] . The interview is to be at 9/F, 350 Bay Street in Toronto.

She could not give me a reference at to which application I had applied to which set off alarms in me so after a fruitless search I stumbled upon this forum. You have saved me time and frustration by sharing this info. I don't think I'll be keeping the appointment.

I completely agree with all comments as I've come across the similar kind of people in Burlington (1100 Burloak Street - unfortunately do not remember the company name). It is sad that they are still doing what they are doing and not being arrested and put to prison for a long-long time.

I really do feal a great amount of remorse for those who have committed their time and money to this bogus "employment coaching firm". Monies paid to them are probably lost due to the fact that they probably do provide you with some kind of service of substandard quality. By doing this they probably can claim they are legit and stay ahead of the law. I wonder how many broken shattered people they have created in their process. I also wonder if they are audited by Revenue Canada for evasion of taxes. Someone should start a petition to find out how many people they've serviced and get the police involved. Perhaps its already underway.

On their Web site, RDG careers profiles Mr. Amir Bhatti, the vice president of Platinum Aerospace. Well, it looks like this outfit went bankrupt in August 2010. Here's the link: http://www.doylegroup.ca/business/en/courtdocs/platinumtooltechnologies/Notice-to-Creditors-of-Intention-To-Make-A-Proposal.pdf

Hi All

2010.10.26

I just got a call from Susan at Job Success. (phone #416.363.9245 - Address 350 Bay Street - 9th floor Toronto ON.) It had all the hallmarks of a scam. A smooth talking woman sounding very professional offering not much in the way of real information but with the apparent goal of setting up appointments with an unknown and un-named career-coaching professional. It is nearly impossible to describe the crawly sensation but somehow things simply didn't appear to fit together. A highly articulate, professional-sounding woman clearly doing something seemingly far below her projected skill level.

Obviously I checked and found this thread. Further checks on "Job Success." yielded a web of smoke and mirrors. I have seen this type of nonsense before and consulted with a close friend who has been in the legitimate recruiting business for years.

As a result of my objective research I came to the conclusion that this is a scam and I will avoid it. As soon as a recruiter wants to involve your spouse or wants your money, run far away. ( Run Forrest, RUN!)

Good luck in avoiding the parasites.

I also got a call today in regards to an "Interview" with Richard at Job Success...like most, it was Susan who called to set up the interview and when asked about what job she was calling me about she said the details would be given to me at the interview. I then asked her what industries they are working with and what type of jobs are they hiring for which she said, we hire for every industry and all jobs.

I booked the interview and then following the conversation looked them up online. I noticed that the website was nothing like most employment agencies so I got a weird feeling. So, like most too, I searched the address and found a few threads that indicated scam and paying for services.

I called them back and asked for "Richard" and got...well...um...he isn't here at the moment. So I asked her some questions including "are you going to be charging me a fee?" and her response was "well the initial interview is free"
ha ha ha...so you haven't met me yet and you already know that I am going to have a second interview...so I asked again..."is there a fee you will be charging me...and her response was "well yes, there might be a fee associated with our service"...to which I cancelled my interview and wrote this.

DONT DO IT

This all started with an innocent e-mail form the Mitchell Group.

Attention : ********

I was delighted to forward my resume back to this individual.

A few days later, I was contacted by Job Success and told that they had a "couple of positions" which were local to me and that I would be well suited for either of them.
Due to the confidential nature of the jobs they were unable to give me details on what the job titles were as the positions were not advertised as yet.
"Could I come in for an interview the very next day as these positions were time sensitive?"

My husband took a day off work and together we drove the 4 hours to get the interview.
When I got there I found out that the Vice President of the company was to interview me himself (a Mr. Steven Fisher)
He told me that they received my resume from the Mitchell Group.

After a very brief discussion the VP told me that I was very talented and he could represent me.
However, he needed to "talk to my husband first."
(Insert warning bells here)

I asked if there were any fees involved and he answered "of course" and that this is why he needed to talk to my husband. (More Bells)
When I asked what the fees were he evaded the question saying "that depends, I can give you more information once I speak with your husband and you together" (Bells)
He would give me no further details and did not even mention "the positions" which I had come to interview for.

Now, I love my husband dearly. But, as a woman who has labored through a man dominated science degree those were some comments that stuck a nerve with me, which is why I left and did not go back for the second meeting with
my husband.
I can't even believe that this had occurred in 2010!

Having read all the negative comments about this company today, I am so very glad that I listened to my internal alarm system and walked away.

I too am extremely annoyed and disappointed that this type of organization even exists.

Job seekers beware...

September 14

Today one lady called me and introduced herself as Susan and told that one of their directors wanted to speak to me. She told that only two schedules are available tomorrow after noon and day after morning. On phone I fixed an appointment for tomorrow 2.30 PM. As I was in the tempo of job search I thought that some employer has responded to my application. On Google I started searching for the location of the address given by the lady I could not find any result. as there were some telephone numbers on some sites I gave the telephone number and search again. Suddenly, the site came and revealed every thing as a job scam. The matter was clear enough and I called their office again and canceled the appointment.

Thanks for Google and the persons responding in the site.

Then a lady call herself Susan from Job Success called and immediately scheduled an interview with one of their managers. I asked for what position is this interview for and she jsut said that an assessment will be done and they'll introduce me to an excellent job. I immediately suspected that this could be a scam. She even told me that all interview slots are filled! and found me a time in the late afternoon. Thanks to all informing about this scam. I am not gonna bother even canceling my appointment.

I just got a voicemail from Diana at Job Success [protected]), which is of course located at 350 Bay. A couple of weeks ago, I also received an email from Nelson Webber telling me he was forwarding my resume to someone who could help. I knew something was up with him when I received the exact same email a couple of weeks later. I didn't know, however, that he was in cahoots with this Diana woman. Wow, luckily I googled the firm "Job Success" and came across this forum.

I had an interview with a Steven Fisher this morning at this same location, 350 Bay and the corner of Bay and Adelade. My first impression was one of apprehension as I sat in the waiting area.

Mr. Fisher did the classic sales approach...: first discounting a world leader in the recruiting agency (Robert Half), then belittling the career placement company my former employer place me with and finally telling me how at first glance he didn't consider my resume, but after careful consideration i was among 25 candidates he had narrowed down from the 500 resumes he receives on a weekly basis, to then meet.

After about a 30 mins session he advised me that I was 1 of 5 that he was willing to invest his firms time to represent for a fee of course, and invited me back for a second meeting the following week.

It causes me some concern that during these hard economic times there's potentially people who would seek to profit from desperate individuals like us. People desperate to feed their families, maintain their life styles and not loose their hard earned savings and investments in paying ever mounting debts.

I'm going to cancel my meeting for next week.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experience. This employment scam is still happening today.

I got the same email (in exactly the same wording like rmd22) from N.Robertson a week ago. I did not suspect it initially as soon after I released my resume from Monster, I got call from another legit agent asking for my resume so I thought they both belongs to the same company and I did not suspect they're from different email.

So I got Susan calling to arrange the interview with the Director that I attended this afternoon. Just like what happens to the others, the William H.G. Kim asked me for a second interview next week together with my wife. This is a rare request for an agency interview. When I talked to my wife, she's suspicious too. So I try searching in the web to see if they have web site domain name other than www.to-job-success.net for their offices in other cities as their office setup suggesting that they have offices all round the world like Boston, Calgary, etc, I found nothing. So I type in William H.G. Kim as shown in his business card, thanks to google, I find this complaints blog right away.

Though I don't think I will ever end up paying them anything even if I did not read this blog, but this least it will save me few hours, gas and $ for the parking.

This guys are scums. I won't even give them a courtesy call to cancel the appointment.

Hi everyone,

Thank you very much for the posts - thank god for the internet sometimes! The same exact thing happened to my husband, but thankfully we read this before taking the trip into Ontario. He also got a random email from Nelson Webber and a follow up call from Susan at Job Sucess - asking to come in for an interview.

This is disgusting, has anyone gone to the police with this yet? Keep the posts coming, hopefully this reputation will get them shut down.

Lastly, I have just written to the National Job Fair and made them aware that they have a scam artist job search company listed on thier website - I encourage everyone to do the same!

Thank you all for posting these comments I was contacted by a Nelson Webber for helping in my career search and I thought what a great individual whose willing to past my resume onto his colleagues to review. I got a call from Diana just a day later and is scheduled for a meeting tomorrow at 10am at 350 Bay street, 9th floor...Thank goodness I decided to research the company further and found all these posts or may have ended up their next victim. I will call that Diana tomorrow though and let her know how disgusted I am by what they are doing and I hope to God the law catches up with them and deal with them accordingly, how sick it is to be taking advantage of vulnerable people.

Just to confirm, Robertson Agencies does have a website but a single page only.

Here are the links to the associated agencies. RDG and Job Success are one in the same. They are both on 350 Bay on the 9th floor. Interestingly enough all three domains are managed by the same person.

Received yet another email - and my response below;

Well "N. Robertson", perhaps you should google your so-called agency - the word scam is associated with it on countless searches.

As I have stated in past emails to you and "William Baxter", I am not interested in associating with you, William Baxter Projects or RDG Careers.

I prefer to deal with reputable organizations with integrity.

Do NOT contact me again.

Thank you for posting this story, you saved me a trip to Toronto! I wrote the [censor] hole the following email and I posted a complaint on Rate my employer.ca under Robertson Agencies. Please add to my comments.

Mr. "N Robertson".

This morning I received a phone call from a woman with your company asking me to come in for an interview. Because of the strange yet vague conversation, I'm extremely glad I researched your company to prepare for my interview on Wednesday morning at 360 Bay St. 9th floor.

By using a search engine I entered the phone number [protected], and found this interesting link William Baxter Projects — Employment scam.

I was disappointed and disgustingly sickened to my stomach to find out your services are a scam, and you are taking advantage of people who are financially, and psychologically vulnerable.

I just got the same email as everyone else from N. Robertson (nrobertson@robertsonagencies.com). I usually search everyone's web sites before I reply so I decided to do so. First thing that felt odd was that he never mentioned his first name, it was just N. Also, the site was just one page with lots of information that didn't relate to anything.

So, I didn't know who he was and I didn't know what he did.

At this point I knew something was up. I did a google search for his email address and voila, here I am now.

Thanks everyone for posting your stories, it saved me some time not having to deal with these losers.
