I requested a refill from my pharmacy the week of June 29th, I waited a few days never received confirmation from pharmacy that my refill was ready. On Wednesday, July 1st, I called the pharmacy spoke to a representative and he explained that he will call Wellmed and send a request for the refill. On Thursday, July 2nd I was getting concerned so I called the pharmacy back the same representative from Wednesday explained to me that he tried contacting WellMed by phone and also sent a fax and had no answer, he was placed on hold for a very long time.
I called the number for Wellmed and spoke to several representatives, I was trying to get an answer as to why the medication wasn't being approved for a refill. One of the Representatives later on that Thursday afternoon, let me know that it seems that I need an appointment. At that point I explained that I had an appointment scheduled for next year, for my annual exam. They tried calling Wellmed, with no response. Finally I called back with one last attempt to get an answer over the phone and asked to speak to a Supervisor, by this point it was 4pm that same Thursday July 3rd, she read the notes on file, and told me I had to make an appointment for the refill. I was confused as to why I'm not able to get a refill and why I need another appointment when I already had one scheduled. It was the day before the Holiday weekend, I was already out of my medication.

I decided to drive down to the office, I spoke to the CSR at the window and she stated the Practitioner had left for the day, read the notes to me. I had to make an appointment and come in to see a physician before I could get my refill.
I felt that it was unprofessional of that particular Practitioner to not even bother to email, text or call me to let me know. The following day was 4th of July , and the office was going to be closed. I was left without my diabetic medication without a care from that "practitioner".
I eventually received a call from a CSR on Wednesday, July 8th, explaining to me what I already knew by going through hoops to try to find an answer as to why my medication wasn't getting approved for a refill.
I don't understand how someone who provides medical service would not have a care in the world for their patient,
I had to call several times and eventually go down to Wellmed to get an answer because they have people working there that don't answer phone calls, do not get back with patients.
Wellmed is not at all concerned about their Patients wellbeing.
I have never had to worry about not getting my medication refilled before until now.
