After a few conversations with Steve Hugunin, who claimed to own a company called Wazoopi LLC, we chose to do an initial test order with his company for some advertising and marketing. We signed an agreement with Steve Hugunin, supposed CEO of this company after conversations with both Steve Hugunin, and Kent Schoonover, supposed Chief Sales Officer of the company. Per the contract we signed, which was then countersigned by Steve Hugunin, we wired a deposit amount to Wazoopi LLC's business account. We were to begin receiving services paid for nearly immediately.

Shortly after sending payment to Steve Hugunin, of "Wazoopi.com" all communication to us halted completely. After day two with zero communication, which was a large change from communication up until we sent money we became concerned. After more than 10 voicemails to Steve Hugunin's business line and cell phone with no response we began investigating things further.

After some research we found that Steve Hugunin does NOT own a company called Wazoopi, LLC. In fact, Wazoopi, LLC is NOT even a registered company in the state he claimed it is (Kansas) Steve Hugunin supplied us with a Federal Tax ID Number as well. We contacted the Internal Revenue Service, who confirmed this was NOT a Tax ID # for Wazoopi, LLC or anything related to Steve Hugunin. We were also able to confirm the address Steve Hugunin claimed was the "Corporate Office" of Wazoopi, LLC, in which he gave a suite #, etc... is nothing more than a Patio
Home, that DOES NOT have a Suite #, and in fact that exact address does not even exist!

After revealing some of our findings to Steve Hugunin via written communication; we followed up with a phone call to Steve Hugunin using a local area code phone number (813) area code. Just 2 minutes prior, we called Steve Hugunin from our office (using our phone number) and Steve did not answer. When we called him 2 minutes later from a phone number with his local area code, he answered immediately. Once Steve Hugunin realized who he was talking too he hung up on us. Later that day Steve Hugunin followed up with an email to us stating that he knows he hasn't completed his end of the contract but made no mention of refunding us our money (as we had requested) or any mention of working out a solution to our concern.

We have reported Steve Hugunin, and his phony business Wazoopi, LLC and Wazoopi.com to the Kansas Secretary of State, Kansas Attorney General, The Internal Revenue Service, The FBI (since this was an interstate transaction) the Better Business Bureau and the Overland Park Police Department who are currently investigating Steve Hugunin and his fraudulent activities. We have been given case numbers by several of these authorities so it's clear that our concerns are legitimate and that Steve Hugunin is a fraud.

Steve Hugunin is a fraud plain and simple. He provided us with bogus business information, bogus Tax ID's, bogus business addresses, and has ran off with our money. Buyer Beware, anything involving this individual is likely tainted with fraudulence.

This is all so ridiculous that this is still on the internet. This was all started by a man whom didn’t want Steve Hugunin leaving his company (because he didn’t want to pay what he was due.(You can also look up this man, Scott Moore who took his own life a bit after after these post stopped.)I have know the man Steve Hugunin professionally for 20 years, and he has also done great thing for humanity during that time. It’s a shame that this type of website is still around. If I was in charge of this site, I would just say it has been dealt with because obviously you can’t can’t get ahold of the of poster since he is dead. I would delete this crap. You can comment guidelines, do we have due diligence to see if it is a business owner that is bitter or was?

These comments about Steve Hugunin are completely unfair. I worked with him for three years at Virtumundo. He's an honest guy. I don't know what's going on with this, but the bluster about him, along with the various misspellings and grammatical mistakes leads me to believe that there's not much to this.

I must say that I am really sad to see this happen to such a great guy. Steve gives his time to charitable organizations, and for example, he just recently worked for donations to combat Neimann-Pick Type C disease (this is a rare genetic disorder affecting two of a friend's (and co-worker's) children. Steve posted a challenge on "Dunk Tank" and got his head shaved for charity!

If the complaint has NOT been withdrawn, and it was posted a year ago, then it should be. This site is doing this man a disservice by leaving this up here.

Everyone be careful. This Phillip Masterson will post 3rd party lies about you and your company for attacking his friend, lover or business partner (whatever he is). I recently received and ABSURD post from him with all false 3rd party accusations, that are far from true.

I too have been ripped off by Steve Hugunin and now Phillip Masterson is posting TOTAL BS about me and my company and yet he is know where to be found on the internet.

I don't have time for these lies and accusations from such a no body in this industry, as i have a couple of companies to run.

I have sent my cases to my lawyer and collections to get my money back from Steve.
I would advise you not to waste much time on either of them also.

Steve Hugunin posted himself as an expert in Search Engine work and did a great sales pitch on me and took my money and could not be reached thereafter. Repeated attempts have been made to contact him and no return phone calls or emails have been returned. This man is a criminal and by now I suspect a fugitive. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS MAN OR HIS PHONY COMPANY. Getting involved with this crook is a bad business decision. He has a phony Gay website for celeb males which is suspicious and I would only guess he is gay but told me he had a family with children, this tells you how cold this man really is. I hope he was lying on that he really dosn't have a family with children but I would expect this from this criminal. Run don't walk when you hear him lying trying to get your money. A criminal complaint is imminent and an arrest I hope as we need these people away from harming the rest of us, as if we aren't struggling enough already with people out there stealing our resources & money

After being alerted to this I have to say that I was quite alarmed. I have known and worked with Steve Hugunin for close to 5 years now, and simply could not believe this when I saw it. So, I did what rationale dictated and called him. I was quickly relieved to hear from Steve that by the time I saw this ridiculously anonymous and false posting that the issue between he and the company who made the claim had been resolved. The only reason that this post was still here at the time of my posting you are currently reading is due to the complaintsboard.com staff reserving the right to keep posts up for a maximum of 30 days after the "originator", or "complainer" if you will, requested it be removed.

The person who hastily made this claim in a fit of passion did so before ANY legal junctures or proceedings were even spoken of let alone acted upon. It was made clear to me by Steve Hugunin that (as he and I have done through our respective companies for years now) he and the "anonymous" company in question here had a contract in place, or IO advertising agreement. So needless to say: since there were no violations of contract, henceforth there were no legal proceedings, or actions that ever did or ever will take place against Wazoopi, LLC via this "anonymous" company.

I understand that this "anonymous" company has retracted this "anonymous" claim or accusation and it will be removed soon. I also wanted to include in this post that Steve Hugunin is not a crook, or a criminal, or a fraud. To help you better understand the scope of this situation I can attest myself that Steve had some unforeseen family issues that consumed the majority of his time during the time period in question here when Wazoopi, LLC was working with this "anonymous" accuser. When he told me about the time line these events occurred across, I immediately remembered having to put some of our business on hold, and scale back what we were doing advertising wise online with Wazoopi, LLC during that time period as well. And yes, Steve was extremely hard to get a hold of . I would have been too if put in his shoes because plain and simple: Family comes First!

The bottom line is this: Steve Hugunin has never done anything but make companies he has worked for as an employee or contractor profitable, and the same goes for his CSO Kent Schoonover, who I don't know well yet personally like I do Steve, but after research could not find anyone anywhere to make a legitimate legal claim against his professional reputation. (anonymously or face to face like a real human being with a spine)

The past work History comment from the other accuser here (Virt) is as hilarious as the post from HonestMediaAdvocate is absurd. The user name Virt, ironically is the first four letters of Virtumundo/Indigo Interactive, a company Steve Hugunin worked for in the past and made extremely profitable as I can attest to personally. Guys I understand that your workhorse is gone, and profits are still way down. You are just going to have to accept the fact that you did not pay your star employee enough and now he is making his own company profitable. That is not "fraud" or "poor behavior" or anything else negative for that matter, it is entrepreneurship. And that is the The American Dream.

I am just glad now that I know the name of the "anonymous" company who brought this absurd mess about here. So I can avoid them like the plague, and have my friends and colleagues do the same.

We've had nothing but success and follow through with this company. We understand that issues come up as every industry/ company does but we have always quickly resolved the matter promptly. Unfortunately people jump to conclusions that are not a 100% justified and patience levels fluctuate between different people.

We have seen similar behavior from his individual and company. He has a poor history with past employers too.

Virt? Also known as Virtumundo the Company Steve left in 2008, and then Virtumundo started to lose everything and blamed it on Steve. It’s not a company anymore, and the poster of all of this ended up taking his own life. Steve was the one that found out that Scott Moore the was putting money out of his funnel he stated and taking into Scotts pet project to make it look like he was producing money there. Steve went and asked for more money to be quite and Scott Moore (Overland Park Scott Moore look him up) steve also knew about all of that. Scott threatened him , and Steve left. The Steve I know at the time was in great shape and a black belt which he doesn’t ever talk about (we used to eat Indian every week and it came out) could have done what I would have done but Steve didn’t and just put his 2 weeks in. steve will always have my respect all these years. I know he ended up growing another company which I don’t want to mention out of respect. I was still at Virtumundo at the time this was written and I just wish I would have known. We all knew Scott was not good, but I just wish I knew it was this bad at the time and I would have done something. I’m sorry Steve I didn’t know at the time, and I hope you read this. I think my the Indian lunch you will remember who I am. Scott took his life after this whole thing, and I’m sorry all this was written on the internet about you by that sick man.
