Three months after we purchased this house we received a notice from Reliance Comfort LP., for a water heater. Upon inspection of our water heater we could not find a Reliance sticker or any proof of item. When we discussed it with their representative and gave them photos and the serial number, it was agreed that their water heater was not on the premises. The representative said no charges and no further action will be taken. Additionally, there was no declaration of a water heater rental on the purchase agreement. We thought that was the end of the matter. Recently, we have been contacted by Veritas Alliance Inc. I called1 888 339 4732. We told them they were participating in a fraud. Additionally, in order to clear our name they demand $121.48 to clear our name. This is extortion. The representative making this demand is Mgr., Richard Alter. He stated that Reliance had placed the charge on the account and they were sold the account to collect. Since product was not in term of sale of resident when I purchased house. This charge should be removed and cleared from credit score at no cost at once! Also for your information the other number 1 800 270 9938 when I called this number today stated "that it was the wrong number and they would transfer to the right number at a cost to you".
You need to dispute this charge with both Veritas Alliance and Reliance Comfort LP. Document every conversation and get everything in writing. If they don’t resolve it, escalate to consumer protection or a legal advisor. Stay firm – they shouldn’t be able to charge you for something that wasn’t part of the deal.
