Vanetta Stringfield Keys review: Tax returns

Vanetta Stringfield Keys tax preparer is not a professional and you should go elsewhere. This is based in part for receiving a phone call from staff to pay a 4-figure amount, post marked on the last day to file my 2021 tax year on the day it was due, being given a tax extension so Ms. Keys can do her job, and then given another 4-figure amount to pay. She also accused me of not providing her all of my tax return information and then acknowledged that something (a tax return!), was scanned simultaneously and didn't show up on her screen. Now I receive a notice from the IRS that I have been penalized and according to Ms. Keys, it's because I did not take out enough taxes even though I paid my taxes in full based on her expertise. I called seven times, spoke to a person twice. "Oh yes, I spoke to my staff and forgot to call you back." Still all my fault based on her expertise because I didn't have enough tax taken out. My prior tax person, who was never a problem, had a stroke and recommended Ms. Keys, who told me today (November 2022) she was overwhelmed due to the additional work she had to "perform" taking on new clients. A shallow sorry was all I received - no call backs, no professionalism, didn't care because it was "all my fault," and was sure she was no longer listening to my call (3rd and final contact after seven calls and one undeliverable text). Buyer beware! She doesn't return calls on a regular basis because "she just returned from a vacation" which is an answer given to me twice between April and November. Good luck on your tax return.
