Mr. Tire

I went to this Mr. Tire which I have been to several times in the past and have had no complaints. But last week I took my VW beetle 2000 for a tire rotation. Got it back the same day and drove it back home. Didn't drive it till 2 days later. After going about 5 miles I began hearing a knocking from the rear left. I pulled over and did a quick check suspecting something must have caught under the wheels (a branch or twig). Nothing on visual inspection. I took out the wheel cap and presto, I found that all 5 bolts on the left rear tire were all loose. They hadn't been tightened. I had to Jack the car up, took it out to inspect if there been any damage and seeing none, I put back the tire. This was on the busy SR 3 in Virginia leading towards the Central Park area I'm Fredericksburg.

This could have ended up very badly. Thank goodness i caught it when I did. I called Mr. Tire at Harrison Rd and complained and demanded an apology. The service manager notes my complaint and said he will throw in a free oil change. I don't think he recognized the severity of such sloppy workmanship. I have not heard back. All I want to know is whether Mr. Tire takes such complaints seriously and acts on them. I think such workmanship is really terrible and you have little excuse. There shd have been someone who double checked before releasing the car to me. Very sloppy
