Direct energy is a scam. I signed up for 6.8 cents per kwh on 15-feb-2014, received a confirmation, and they subsequently wrote in an email on 6-mar-2014 that there was a problem and to call [protected], at which time they then said that the rate is now 9.7 cents per kwh.

That's bait and switch and that is illegal.

Consumers should file complaints with the attorney general, the bbb, [redacted].com, complaintsboard.com, and as many other consumer alert web-sites as possible.
