Fred Meyer - Return refusal and customer service employees that routinely lie or make up their own rules

I would like to start off my complaint by stating that this is not the first time that this has happened to me and I know at least one other customer that has had very similar interactions and p practically the same exact outcome. My issue is at fred meyers gateway location in portland oregon the one right next to gateway max stop. My problem is with the customer service employees that are usually working during the daytime and their habit to disregard the fred meyers policies and habitually refusing returns by lying to the customers. I don't often have returns and if I do I usually always have my receipt or rewards account so things typically go smoothly but issues arise when I don't have a receipt or if the item i'm turning was a gift. Today I was attempting to return my pair of carhartt pants that I received as a gift and I was told that they don't carry the specific genes that i'm trying to return and that i'm not allowed to return pants from a different store. Not only is it not true about the pants in the availability at the location but she wanted to show me that it was unavailable and so she went and she scanned the the barcode on the inside of the pants that the cashiers or fred meyers in general doesn't use for the pricing and for categorizing in their system it's pretty obvious that the one on the outside that is easy to find is the one that should and always is used. She wanted toconvince me that they weren't available at fred meyers and she showed me the screen but she didn't scan the correct barcode. I made a phone call to the person who bought the gift for me and they assured me that the pants came from fred meyers and that that's kind of strange and fishy that they would pretend and lie about the availability of the pants in order to refuse the return. In addition to lying to me she was very rude and treating me as if I were stupid for returning the pants to the wrong store and I feel was trying to embarrass me or make me look foolish in front of the rest of the customers who were also waiting. It really frustrates me because I just would like a different size that actually fits me and i'm being treated like i'm trying to get one over on fred meyers and i'm even being lied to the items availability. I would have not decided them make a complaint if this were one time thing but I remember very early this year I had a very similar incident and the coworker actually I believe she's in charge the other lady not the one that refused my return this time but the last time she does the same stuff and I believe she is teaching employees to engage in these very rude and scandalous business tactics. If there is a rule or policy they should be adhered to and if the choice is at the cashiers or customer service representative's discretion then that should be made clear or included somewhere in the policies for returns and the employees should never be able to or especiallyespecially shouldn't be teaching and influencing the other employees to take part in these very unnecessary and shady business practices. I would like the employees who like to break the rules and bend them or flat out lie or condone lies and liars to be spoken to and I like the problem to be addressed and I would like to be able to return an item when I have one to return that isn't going against the written policies because what's the point of the policy if employees just do whatever they want anyways. I always recommend people to go anywhere but fred meyers since this has happened and I myself and quite close to being done with fred meyers permanently only reason i'm considering going to fred meyers in the future is because there are plenty of locations with employees that do follow the policies that are there for a reason. Fred meyer gateway could be a lot better location and they should be better examples for fred meyers concerning that this location is very busy and is often visited by people from out of town or coming from the airport and if if a location like this one has so much visibility and what not it's a shame that they are and have always been in my opinion as well as many others the worst fred meyers that I can think of

Desired outcome: I want workers in the morning through midday to be spoken to and told to not lie or be deceivers and to adhere to the company's policies.clearly post policies

Fred Meyer - Birds dying

Outside it the garden center birds are dead everywhere. I got pooped in from a nest above me. So gross. I feel bad for the birds they look stuck up there.

I’ll let the Audubon Society no next if you’re not willing to fix all the death in your garden center. I’m truly appalled.

DEAD BIRDS

Desired outcome: Get them out! I don’t yearn to buy flowers here with dead birds above me. It’s so sad.
