I'm currently in Los Angeles. Monday, February 28 I flew to Columbus, Ohio. Tuesday morning I went to the Public Storage location in Worthington where KY brother and I had all of our possessions stored in a climate controlled unit or the past ten years. The wouldn't fit the lock, I immediately became concerned.
The desk clerk said there had been an issue with the lock having been tampered with last May, A new lock had been installed. When I opened the unit, everything was gone.. An entire lifetime of collecting music and film memorabilia stolen. Personal items, my father's purple heart, photos, 16mm film collection, LP's, CD's, A tube of film posters, everything we owned right on down to two bags of clothing.
I stood there nearly breaking down in tears. It was a psychological blow that I for one, will never fully recover from. Everything my brother and I have loved, cherished and worked for our entire lives, wiped out.
We don't understand how this could have possibly have happened. Had I not flown to Ohio last week we would still be unaware.
We're both devastated. It's everything we've ever loved and lived for. Thousands and thousands of dollars invested a few dollars at a time over the past 45 years. It's messing me up bad. This is all my brother and I owned. We have nothing left.
Desired outcome: Investigation, lawuit, compensation
