Cleveland Clinic - Billing
My wife went to a Cleveland clinic emergency room back in on January 13th. At that time she provided them with our insurance information, GEHA as I work for the Air Force. Cleveland clinic did not bill us through our insurance, and instead billed us directly. We called them and again gave them our insurance information and told them to please bill through our insurance. We again received direct bills. Again, we called a provided our insurance information. We were told that they had it already but for some reason it wasn't "linked to our account" or some such and that they would fix that.
We then received direct bills again, and now today we received a notice from a collection agency. In 7 months, Cleveland clinic failed to bill us through our insurance and instead went to a third party collection agency. We will be disputing this debt with the collection agency, since our insurance was never billed. This should never have happened and is completely ridiculous.
Desired outcome: Send bill through our insurance to be processed like any other health care bill, so Irby insurance covers their part before we pay the remaining.
