David's Bridal - Return and exchange scam

I had gone to the David's Bridal in Towaco NJ to get fitted for a bridesmaid dress along with the bride and the rest of the bridal party. I tried on a dress that was a size 10 but seemed a bit loose. They did not have the correct size I needed to try on in the store so the lady assisting us told me I should buy this dress but in a size 8 and order it online.

After I got home, I signed up for the Davids Bridal membership and ordered my dress in the size 8. Once I had received the dress, I tried it on and it was too tight. Unfortunately, by the time I had time to try it on, the return date had past. I had no idea they only give you a week to do this. Ridiculous if you ask me...

Me and the bride had called them multiple times, for MONTHS, asking about this policy and I was told if I had just bought it in the store that I could have returned or exchanged it no problem. But since I ordered it online, I all of a sudden cannot anymore? That doesn't make any sense. Especially since the bridal assistant in the store that day told me to order it online.

Now fast forward a few months out and the wedding is in 3 weeks and I still have yet to receive a phone call back from them. I have left call after call, asking for the manager to speak to me, only to be told that my message would be relayed to the manager and that she would call me back. IT NEVER HAPPENS...

Im fuming, I spent close to $200 on a dress that does not fit me and I simply cannot wear anywhere. ALSO, when I speak to a representative to help me with this issue, they tell me they cannot find my order number, any of my information. I keep repeating to them that I have the exact emails of signing up for their memebrship and both emails of the order confirmation and the delivery.?

I am so upset and stressed out that I still do not have a dress. I do not understand why they just can't accept this issue and make an exchange. I dont even want to return the dress, they'll still keep their money... I just need a dress that fits like I was told.

Desired outcome: An even exchange of the exact dress I ordered, just one more size up.
