One month ago, I was making in store purchase at the Maurices in Kalispell MT and one of the hundred dollar bills I paid with was denied because it was an older hundred-dollar bill. After asking to speak with a manager, I was informed that they do not accept old dollar bills of any kind due to the strip not being present. The bill was from 1998 and obviously still in circulation. Being as how I work at a bank; I was and am thoroughly disappointed in the action regarding this transaction. If that is the case, Maurices should purchase fraud detection equipment or markers that can be used to assist in fraudulent bills. I was very much a regular customer and that has been tarnished. Best of luck and not a way of doing business.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response to know that complaints or input of any kind is valued. In addition, purchasing necessary devices to improve the customer experience.[protected]@yahoo.com
