American Auto Shield

I purchased a car shield on my 2003 GMC truck in November 2020. Took truck in to be looked at in March 2021 found out oil pump went out. Ends up needing a new motor. Inspector comes out looks at truck says it needs new motor says its covered 2 days later get call from American auto shield saying they will not pay because truck has a tuner setting on dash. Tuner has not been hooked up in years only used for 3 months while we were looking for new dash cluster (cluster was hard to find do to age of truck it was the only used to know how much fuel was in truck and how fast you were going. Once we located the new dash cluster it was unhooked and left on the dash because it was glued on could not remove without tearing the dash. I have receipt for cluster. When I took out the policy was never even told if it had a tuner could not be covered. I never thought about it because it was not hooked up. If I had known this was an issue would have torn dash to remove. So here I sit with a bill for more than 5, 000 that should have been covered. I have always taken very good care of this truck have owned since 2004. Very disappointed
