I was in the saint paul midway menards on thursday April 27th around twelve or one in the afternoon. I frequent this menards ofton and spend lots of money.
Never had a problem until this day when I was rudely and abruptly stopped at the main exit door by a young asian man between the ages of 20 and 30. Who proceeds to grab my cart and block me from leaving the store with my merchandise to go and retrieve one penny from my car. That is correct. My total was $20.52. I paid exactly $20.51 and explain to the cashier I am literally parked in the 1st spot next to the exit door. And I will go retrieve one penny and bring it back. While walking to the door is when the situation occurred.. At 1st I couldn't believe that he was physically trying to stop me from going to my car and retrieving the penny with my goods.. While in utter shock that he wouldn't let me retrieve the penny with my goods. Stating he does not know me and doesn't feel like I would come back (yes with 1 cent) he comes off with a attitude and I actually felt as if it could have been racialy motivated. To Defuse the situation and keep a calmer head. I give the guy a quarter. While leaving he gets smart and tells me I should have just done that from the beginning.. Really! In all of my fifty years on this earth I never would have thought I would be Embarrassed or treated like that over one penny that I was willing To give up. #Menards Midway You need to train SOME of your Employees to treat the customers better.. In fact I was planning on spending 1300.00 On a new stove the next day.. Well you can probably guess that I will not be purchasing it from here. Remember, I thought customers were to be valued...#Menards
