Avenue Stores

I purchased pants 7/29/19 at full price. The receipt clearly states returns/exchanges are gladly excepted within 60 days of original date of purchase. On 8/29/19 I return to find out the stores are closing and I cannot exchange my pants. I didn't ask for money back which should be granted because I purchased before this company decided to close it's store chains.
I'm sure if I owe this company money on their credit card regardless if they are closing they will still want to be paid there money back.
