Chamberlain University has implemented a grading change that will ultimately fail many students. I am asking that nursing students' are evaluated on more than just our ability to take a test. Many nursing students struggle with test anxiety, but excel in Clinicals and assignments. This new grading change will make many classes nearly impossible to pass. I am filing this complaint because when I took Medsurg 2 at the Indianapolis campus for Chamberlain University in January 2021, for example, before the grade change, students received a failing average grade on every test. Hardly any students passed exams with a 76. There is a clear learning deficit in these classes. There needs to be a change. Many students have come forward with their concerns over this grading change. I personally have attended two town hall meetings to voice my concerns. No change occurred. I was going to meet with the President to discuss this problem further, but he recently quit and was replaced by the Dean of nursing. Chamberlain did not listen to its students at all on this matter. The school's position was that students could pass a class by doing just the ATI assignments and failing every exam. This is simply not true. I am asking that Chamberlain reconsider this change and assess nursing students skills and true knowledge rather than our ability to take a test.
Desired outcome: Reverse the ATI grading change
