National Tire & Battery [NTB] - car repair

I went to have my care fixed because it would not start. I called the NTB store in advance to see if they worked on VW's the store manager stated that they did. I arrived at the store and they started working on my car. They stated that it must be the battery. They placed a new battery and the car still did not start. Then they stated that it must be something more. So we will try a tune- up. I stated to the manager are you sure that this is the issue. Manager stated that he was not sure but he would take care of me if it was not the problem. They did the tune up, but the car was still doing the same thing that it did when I brought it to the location. After sitting for hours waiting on a response or event an idea about what was happening they stated that it must be an electrical problem. I stated that I need to take may car to the VW place. They would not release my car until I paid. I asked the sales rep if I go to the VW place and they work on my car what type of reimbursement do you do. The sales rep stated that they would review the service provided by VW and compare if the same things were done. I asked for all of my parts that were removed. They had the worst customer service in the world they don’t tell you anything for hours and when they do they act as if you owe them something. They are unable to state if they cannot do something they would prefer to rip off the customer and lie about things later.

In March of 09 I brought my 2000 jeep Wrangler in for Tires, Brakes, Shocks. When I dropped it off and recieved an estimate I asked worst case seniero so I was given an cost 0f $1600.00. I agreed and left.

Later in the day not hearing anything I called the store where the work was being done. I was told bt Kevin(NTB store manger) that they were having problems with my rear shocks that the bolts were rusted and would it be ok to keep it over night. Again I agreed. The following day I called they told me my jeep would be completed by 6:00 pm now keep in mind I dropped it off at 9:00 am the day before. So I did ask while they have my jeep on the rack could the find a noise that I was having in the front area of my jeep they said sure. I thought my front Differentail was going bad.

Well at 6:00pm I arrived to find out my Jeep was still not done in fact they hadn't even mounted my tires yet. I ask about my noise and according to Kevin(Store Manger) there so called master mechanic said it was my transfer case. I felt a littler relieved. NTB offered to repair it for an additional $1600.00 I told them not thanks I could handle that.
Anyway I arrived at 6:00pm store was closing my Jeep still not done so I asked the gentleman at the counter what was the problem he then informed me they were sent the wrong parts and had to find another supplier since it was Sunday. Ok I ll give them that. So finally 6:45 Kevin the store manger came out told me my Jeep was done. So I ask him what took so long he told me that it was because the underside of my vehcile was so rusty. (Whatever) so now it has taken a company that specilizes in tires, brakes, shocks two days to complete this task. When it was time to pay for the work done I was surprised to find out my $1600.00 was noe $2100.00 after argueing with them for another 20min. It was settled at $1800.00.

Now on to my transfer case I bought one from a salvage yard for $589.00 I put it in only to find out that it wasn't my transfer case after all. but infact a CV yoke on my front drive shaft. So I went to an auto parts start bought the bearing for $19.00 and put it in myself. So needless to say I will not ever go to another NTB. I did call the dealship to ask about there hourly rate and to my surprise they charge the same rate. Leeon learned!

My name is Roland. I purchased my tires from the tire rack on-line and I'm happy with my purchase. However they shipped them to one of there supposedly qualified tire installers known as TN Natl Tire & Bat at Two Mile Parkway in Goodlettsville Tn.37072. They called me and set up an appointment for 10 AM on 2/25/11. They called me around 4 PM that afternoon told me my vehicle was ready . I get there about 4:30 PM to pick my car up. Its got a flat tire on the left rear driver's side sitting in the parking lot. They tell one of the employees to bring it in the shop so they can fix it. The employee gets in the car, tire is completely flat brand new tires mind you and starts driving across the parking lot. This is a 1995 Corvette in mint condition. I run out the door stop the guy and ask him to stop the car and if he realizes that he's driving on a brand new tire that is flat the rim is cutting into the letter's on the side wall. He said he wasn't going far and was pulling it into the shop. I told him to get out of my car and go get a air tank and fill the tire up before he moved it again. Well he went and did that. Now I'm sitting in the waiting room watching them through the window and the one guy tells me I've got a bad valve stem. They don't have that kind of stem or carry any like it. It's a custom chrome 45 degree turnout . They finally find a rubber one that works. It took them one and a half hours form the time I arrived to get my car up and running just to put a valve stem in. All they did was wash the tire off from where the guy was driving it on the flat. I was told that when you raise a corvette up on a rack that you should unlatch the doors to keep any glass from cracking. They didn't bother to do that . Well I know for a fact that my windshield wasn't cracked when I brought it in there but know I have a 12 inch crack on the passenger side of the windshield coming straight down from the roof close to the right and windshield trim. Called them about it and never have received a phone call or nothing back . Paid them 225.01 for wheel mounting, four wheel alignment, and lifetime wheel balance. Know I have to pay over 200 for a knew windshield.
