Dollar General - the cashier

I visited the local Dollar General, located at 1885 Crawfordville, Fl around 10:15 a.m. on December 24, 2018.

Once I reached the cashier, she asked me was I using EBT, even though my purchase consisted
of soap. I immediately asked her, why did she assume that I was using EBT? Her response was, it was due to my card being blue. She continued to say that EBT Cards are blue.( I don't know what color they are, since I don't receive assistance). This was a lie! My debit card was completely red. I informed her that it was red and that it was a Bank of America Card. She replied and said that she didn't know that. That was my point exactly, she had no clue what color my card was. I was asked this solely based on my skin color.

There was a Caucasian female in front of me in the check out line. The same cashier, who is also Caucasian, asked her was she paying with debit or credit. Guess what? The Caucasian customer in front of me in the line, was using a blue debit card. I found this very strange that Caucasian customers, are automatically assumed to be using either debit or credit and non Caucasians are assumed to be using EBT.

I found this behavior and practice very disgusting and distasteful and I was very offended.

Even though they're not supposed to ask what card you're using, they have to know what card you have so they can hit the correct button on their register to keep you from swiping your card multiple times.
