We arrived at the Starbucks line on the Southwest concourse at 8:55AM.
There were 2 people working behind the counter a Monday morning in a busy commute airport-a cashier and a 'baristista'.
It took nearly 30 minutes to get through the line. The Peets Coffee had 4 people working and they kept their line moving. Yes we should have switched.
After getting our coffee, etc. we looked for a clean table. The tables all needed to be wiped down. We wiped one down and sat. We looked over at the counter where drinks come out and where the Milks were and it was filthy. It was obvious it had been some time since it had been cleaned. Then as an employee came around to a closet to get more cups, she dropped a part of a stack of uncovered plastic cups and the top of the cups rolled on the floor.. After they hit the ground she looked around to see if anyone had seen it happen. Then she went around to the back of the counter and proceeded to put those cups on the stack the barista was working with.
Somehow I don't think the Health Department would have approved this location if they observed what we saw.
