On 4/1, we purchased (what we believed to be) a reclining piece for our TV room. Our order number was 2994068. When it arrived, it was an incorrect piece. It was a sofa, when we had actually wanted a loveseat. We contacted the store, and a new order was created 2995768.
The invoices are for $1473.75 (old) and $1405.62 (new).
I have since learned that Jeromes by mistake apparently had given me a 5% discount for purchasing additional furniture. So they want me to accept a $20 refund instead of the $68.13 indicated on the invoices.
My argument is that I have two invoices. None of them indicate a 5% cut. In black and white, it states the total.
In several phone discussions, I have been told under no uncertain terms that they would NOT honor the new order since the price is incorrect and would stand by their assumption that I do not get the 5% discount.
It is unbelievable to me that a company this big, with so many products to sell, which would appreciate customer loyalty would be so unbending about this. If a mistake is made, the company should cover the mistake.
