Starving Students Movers - withdraw money from bank account without authorization

On November 2nd 2014, I scheduled a move and understood that they would be at my residence no later then 11:00 a.m.. By 12:30 p.m. the movers still have not shown. I contacted the manager Shawn and he said that they will not be there. I had to take a day off of work to get them to move me on Monday. They showed up on Monday and asked me if I hired another mover they would get it done faster but ended up taking most of the day. The movers took several breaks and refused to take all my items. By 4:30 p.m. the job was completed and then they said it was $1500 dollars. I told them no way ! After talking with Shawn again he stated to me that he would discount the amount to $900.00 and I did the credit card swipe in that amount. He also said that he would have someone from the LA Office contact me. I never heard from anyone. In the mean time I received a telephone call from the residence that I moved from and the person still living there stated that the movers took things from his home. Now I have to pay for these items that were taken. A month went by and no one from Starving Students contacted me and then on December 3rd, 2014 $1, 000 was withdrawn from my acct. I immediately contacted the bank and they asked me to contact the company. I spoke with Cheyenne Taylor in the claims dept. and she said that Jean is the supervisor and she would need to speak with her. I told her that I need her to speak with her immediately for I don't have this money in my account for her to take. I contacted them back on Monday afternoon and again spoke with Cheyenne she said she forgot to contact me but said that Jean refused to refund my money and if I wanted to put in a claim to speak with Melody so she transferred me to Melody and she just started to tell me that she could not do anything until I put in a claim and proceeded to talk to me about the law. I explained to her that I know what my rights are for I work all day with attorneys. I have a receipt for $900.00 dollars you company has taken over $1500 dollars out of my account that needs to be refunded to my account. I filed a complaint with my bank and I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau next if this is not refunded into my account. Your company is a crook. First you are late a day which means that you should of given me a discount, second your co overcharged me for work that was not worth it and third your stole money out of my account that was not authorized and last you company hired ex-cons to movie my items and they helped themselves with extra items for their taking. I believe your company should be sued for damages and stress that you have caused. I will next seek an attorney for this. Please contact me at [protected] to get this straighten out. my claim No. is 32-1517

Sincerely,

Patricia S.

Has anyone received any "claim" checks or even paychecks from them, with a bank name and address on them?

If so, please email the bank name & address to jjp1@optonline.net.

Thank you!
