My 16 year old son is getting braces treatment. I took him in back in May 2019 the orthodontist explain to me the braces treatment. I agreed with the treatment recommended braces for about 18 months the insurance covered 2, 000 and I'm paying the remainder portion. It's now the end of August 22 2019 they have the brackets on his upper teeth with the wire and them. The bottom teeth only have the brackets. They had given my son back in June a paper about a recommendation rewarding removing both teeth well that was not explain in the initial ortho evaluation. Past forward to this last ortho appointment they tell me that he needs to see a periodontist to get clearance to continue with the orthodontist treatment since his gum is a little low for his bottom teeth and tell me he might be brushing to hard and that could be the cause. I was upset I told them why had they not told me this before or called why waste my time and have me take him to the ortho appointment and the lady at the desk that makes appointments makes a remark about how I might be late in payments she doesn't have the file or paper work out for her to make such negative remarks I couldn't believe she said that rude. So now my understanding is that the treatment for ortho is not fully paid so I'm going to be treated like I'm not a paying customer/patient and so the treatment will be place on hold. I had braces before and I had a great experience I paid my treatment every month I had my appointment. I was always treated with respect and my appointment were always monthly. My sons new appointment was made for October 17 2019. So for he month of September he won't have an appointment. Not to mention they didn't suggest any periodontist in the area they told me to look my self. Very disappointed with this dental place.
