My name is Patricia Koonce and my son name is Jameel Karim Koonce. Jameel worked for Whole Foods, but he died in his apartment alone on November 17, 2022. I was told by Mrs. Pope that the company had terminated Jameel for AWOL since they did not receive a call from him and had tried to call the number on the books which was his father's number, but his dad never picked up. I informed her that I received a call from the Corners Office early in the morning at almost three O Clock New York time, but before 12:00 A.M. their time in Los Angeles California. I was told that the company would forward Jameel's last pay, vacation time and 401 K to me since he had no wife or children, I paid for my son's Cremation and other expenses to get his ashes home to me and I really cannot understand why his father number was even listed. I am and always have been Jameel's provider since his birth.
Desired outcome: I would like to receive all funds due to my son and a apology for not sending his compensation to me without me having to contact your agency for assistance in doing what is right in the first place.
