BluePearl Veterinary Partners - Malpractice

We visited the BluePearl, Avondale AZ location on Sunday 8/20 at 10:45am. Our puppy had suffered a laceration to his hind leg and after waiting until about 12pm were told it was an arterial bleed and needed surgery to repair. We suggested alternative treatments and the Vet insisted on this being something serious and needing to put the dog under anesthesia for surgery to 'tie off' the artery. We agreed with the Vet and left for home to allow them to perform the surgery. We received a call at 5pm from the office clerk sharing that they had not started surgery and were short staffed, they were waiting for more staff and were estimating a 7pm start for surgery. At that point, we asked to have him bandaged so that we could figure out another alternative treatment. The vet again strongly advised against doing this and insisted on the surgery needing to take place, so we conceded to the Vet. A few hours later, the Vet called us to share she couldn't find a bleeding vein, so they gave him 6 stiches. Her exact words were "I wasn't going to fish for the vein". Once we arrived onsite to pick up our puppy, we were told by the vet tech that she was happy it wasn't an arterial bleed and just needed time for the injury to clot. A piece of information the Vet never shared. In summary, we were charged for treatment that our pet did not need. They were not staffed properly, and our dog suffered for it. Our dog stayed kenneled for over 8 hours due to their staffing issues. They placed our dog under anesthesia and performed surgery due to an arterial bleed that did not exist. They put our puppy through all of this stress for 6 stitches! They charged us $2,000.00 for a surgery that was not needed. Our dog has been vomiting and crying for 3 days. We asked the staff to have the Practice Manager call us the next morning and we never received a call. We then called the hospital asking for help and no one has called us back. We have reached out to other offices along with their corporate office. No one has called us back or even checked on us.
