Ultra Lean Green Tea offers a free trial online (you only pay shipping and handling). But you are then charged about $70/month for a monthly subscription that you are automatically signed up for. You can cancel this by calling the company number that appears on your credit card bill. Even when you call, they will try to coerce you into another deal to reclaim some of your lost money (a deal that actually costs you additional money). All in all, a harsh wake-up call to the dangers of buying items online and releasing you credit-card info.

I just found out that I was enrolled in a fitness training service as a result of a weight reduction pill trial offer that I accepted where they offered to send a trial and all I had to pay was the shipping charge. To-date I have not received any such trial offer but I do have this charge and this service that I did not request nor did I approve. Does anyone know if the Utah Consumer Protection Division is taking action against this company?

Bad mistake now im bein chargeed 71.90 a month for this crap. And when I went to there website and at the bottom of it it says contact us. But nothing would come up. Thank you so much for posting the number. I was about to close my bank account. And Damn those people need to learn how to talk to people...

OMG! I just finished cancelling mine too. I can't believe they would do that. Here I am thinking that all I was getting was a months supply for the s&h price & figured if it worked then I'll order more, but never did I think that they would continue to send me the crap. Thank you so much for posting the number. The girl really tried to get me to stay with it all and just pay 35 bucks a month, but hell NO. I'm so pissed at myself for falling for it... I should have known better.

I finally got my money back after 2 1/2 months. I called them everytime they gave me a date that my money would be in my account and wasn't there. The number I called is [protected]. Just be persistent and don't give up. Good luck.

I want to be careful of my wording here as their website and Terms Of Service seem to change often, and I don't want to make any statements that may come back to haunt me. I'm not going to bore you with all the gory details, but I will try to fill you in on the Highlights, if you continue to read this email.

#1. The 14 day free sample period starts immediately when a person places their order. So if I place an order on the 14th, and with shipping and handling it takes 8 days to arrive I now have 6 days to try the product. If they are not called by you on the 28th your credit card is then charged for the full amount of the "free" product. (Close to $70.00)

#2. Even though they guarantee "100% satisfaction", they do not stand by this guarantee. I called their customer service numbers (there were two when I made my purchase (one to cancel the product, the other for the "weight loss club" that you unknowingly sign up for when you order their "free trial") ) But there seems to be only one number now. (Incidentally their TOS (terms of service) indicates that the purchaser is also responsible to pay for any of the sister/affiliate company charges incurred as a result of your accepting this "free trial" which is close to another $70.00 a month) and to cancel the product and services that were billed to my credit card. Their customer service rep. became snarly and abusive. One of the comments she made was "You don't get anything for free, that charge is for the product you kept". (IE the "free trial" product)

3. When you decide that you have been duped and go to the credit card issuer (your credit card company) to register a dispute you find that your manner of recourse has been taken away because also in the TOS they take this right away from you. There is a clause that states that you may not have your credit card issuer back charge them, and that they are the only authority (the Lean Green Tea Company) who may authorize a refund, and this is at their discretion.

4. It also states in their TOS that it takes from 60 to 90 days to be able to determine it their product is of benefit to a consumer. So if you go to them and request a refund because you are not satisfied that the product works, they will deny your request because you have not given their product enough time to work.

Ok, I'm sorry. I seem to have gotten off the mark a bit. Please have someone try this "free offer" and see what happens. Make sure that each web page is copied (as they change often).

It seems to me that there is far too much legal talk for this to be a valid offer. I regret that I didn't look into this more carefully before I was foolish enough to fall for this. They are not only taking people's money, they are taking their trust.

Well, one month ago my card was charged $70 adn because it didnot have the exact amount i was charged a fee of $25. I called the number next to the transaction too many times and was always on hold and did not get a chance to talk to anybody. I did not sign up for refills. Last week I received a box of Ultra Green Tea. This is so worng, I did not even know what I was charged for til I got the package. I am glad to see that i am not the only one suffering, but this is gross.

I am so upset about this. I'm angry with myself for falling for this scam too.

I went to their web page after being billed for $69.00 (I cancelled this order a week ago, and my credit card was charged today) and copied every page, then called their customer service and recorded the conversation. One of their supervisors called me back and I recorded that conversation too. The information on their website has changed just from last week. Oh and now the "Leader Page" is calling itself a "Blog" instead of an advertisement. And they have the audacity to write the statement "Satisfaction Guaranteed 100%. I NEVER recieved an email "confirmation" with any contact information.

100% Satisfaction Guaranteed

Right now you can enjoy a full 30 day pack of Ultra Lean Green with our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee!

Try it today, You have nothing to lose!
This last statement was cut and pasted from their website.

I am so glad I came across this site! I have been seeing that advertisement over and over again on Facebook and decided to research it. However, most search engines google, yahoo, etc. will show all of the good reviews first. I kept looking for a bad review and it took me a while to finally find this page. I knew something was fishy. I hope Facebook will realize that this bad type of advertisement will hurt them. It makes me very happy to know that there are real people out there who have tried this bull-crap tea stuff and are starting to put them out of business!

I agree with everyone that I've read here... I've been on the phone on hold for over 15 minutes and still no one would answer. I am not happy with the product as I thought it was $5.95 for the first order and then they would start sending you a monthly order and bill your to your acct ... No ... I got a big $69.95 bill instead.
Now I'm trying to cancel this ... there is no other way except being on hold over the phone ...but yet you can order on line.
If anyone has any help to get through this company to cancel ... please email me. thanks

I think the manager and the crew are full of it

They are getting people to write good things about them.

I called more than a month ago for my money and it still hasn't been refunded they always tell me.

"Ma'am you will see it in your account by the end of this week"

Pretty lame excuse I am so tired of hearing it I got charged 4 overdraft fee's because of them

I recommend you don't buy this product it doesn't even work. It just gave me really bad headaches and stomach pains. They also just rip you off.

They need to be put out of business they are SCAMMING people.

Thank You,
Celene

If you wish to contact me my e-mail is CLiborio172@yahoo.com
They are so freaking hard to contact this is so B.S.

I second all of the above.
A scammy slimy way to run a business, plus the stuff is disgusting smelling and tastes so toxic.
No matter what I tried to do I couldn't drink but one well...3/4. I tried mixing it with anything, the nasty taste was still there.
Then I looked and saw the sweetener on the label. sucralose. Don't even get me started on how bad that is for you. Type that ingredient into mercola.com.
and no managers or supervisors around, I still asked one to call me. Just to humour myself. I'm so mad. READ FINE PRINT... but I never got mine till 20 days, too late.
I'm calling my credit card company because I now can't get through to confirm my refund. This is scary...

None of it is a scam. Companies like this are bound by law to disclose all information pertaining to what you're ordering & how much you're being charged. They are also held liable by the credit card companies. They cannot accept payment via credit card without upholding various security measures, credit card fraud prevention, etc. Bottom line... everything IS disclosed to you. Take the time to read the "fine print" and you wouldn't be so angry afterwards. Educate yourself and once you read the disclosure and you don't like what you're getting yourself into... don't order. It's very simple.

And for those who order via telephone, the sales rep. is bound by the same responsibilty & liability to disclose all information to you. Listen very carefully to what they're asking you and don't say "yes", "mhmm", "ok" or anything that can be construed as consent unless you understand. That is all a sales rep. has to hear to be able to sign you up for other products, auto shipments, etc. If you're not sure what the sales rep. is talking about... just say "No, thanks". You may need to say it many times as the sales rep. will continue with rebuttals. As long as you're saying "No" they cannot send or sign you up for anything other than what you initially called to order.

I hope this information is pertinent to someone.

Big rip off, just discovering the $69.00 charges (3 in one day!)

My credit card is canceling the charges, no response from the company, I am shipping everything back with a request to refund, as well as to stop all future.

According to my credit card company this company is probably an empty office- they are SCAM artists.

I have also sent an email complaint to the Attorney General's Office in Utah.

Not sure if anyone will be able to find these people. I hope they do, and I hope they lock them up and throw away the key, because they are enjoying our money!

I had the same thing happen as all of you. Ordered it thinking it was cheap so what the hell? Received the product like a week later (after avoiding the sales calls that followed to give me more "free" offers). Hadn't even tried it yet before my bank account was drained with a $70 charge, so my card was denied at a lunch I was at. (THAT was fun.)

I called the number that was attached to the charge to get an explanation and heard the same as all of you "14 day trial cancellation, blah blah." I tried to reverse it, was told it was stated on the website when I ordered (I'd really like to know WHERE?)

They tried to have me order another sample and charge me $30 for it and then they would refund me the original $70 charge. I was pissed, said no and told him to cancel my acct. It had BETTER be canceled. Where is the BBB when you need it?

What a scam. No telling how many of us they are ripping off. They charged my card the $4.95 shipping and 3 additional charges of $69.87! My credit card company is charging them back. I was able to speak to two people there (Misty 235 and a "supervisor" Alicia 125.) They say that the terms are clearly stated on the website?Furthermore, no paperwork came with the product stating any terms or contact information. I have been billed 3 times, even though I only received my one "free trial". They are billing this as ultragreenlean "software" and apparently are also known as REGNET and DIGITAL RIVER. Another contact # I have is [protected]. Please beware. I am willing to file as many consumer complaints as necessary-any suggestions? Thanks.

Well, I guess I am not the only one taken. I just got my credit statement, and they got me for $140 for a "free trial". I called to get the charges taken off, and they hung up on me! No supervisors available at that company. I guess they are tired of being yelled at. Now I am disputing the charges with Visa and printing all of this plus the ad that says "FREE" all over it. If anyone is successful at having the charges dropped, please let the rest of us know how to do that, so we can put this scammer out of business!

Wow i'm sorry so many people got ripped of but i had a great experience with it. They give you a number to call on the same webpage as the one your signing up on, yes my was delivered a little late, but i just called and it came two days later. I was not charged anthing but the 5.95 and after i found that the tea was very energizing, but it wasnt helpin me lose much more weight then just workin out alone, i called and canceled it with ease.

Like all of you, I did the same thing...I only wanted the samples...no problem paying the s/h, but guess what! due to all this...I was charged a 39.00 over limit on my credit card, because I had NO IDEA that this would be done...so they told me they would take it off my card...which i'm sure they wont! one charge for 34.XX and one for 69.87!

Be aware that not only is this criminal but very hard to get resolved when you discover you have been taken advantage of. I don't remember "terms and conditions" but if you see the box before you check it please read carefully. First if you want this product it is NOT FREE unless you return the unused portion before the 14 day trial period. So then it has cost you the original shipping and to ship back. If you keep it longer and do not respond they automatically put you in autoship and charge your card $69.87 for first the FREE Trial then in two weeks you get charged again for more product. In the "terms and conditions" you are also authorizing them to charge you for other items that you did not know were even a part of this program. Then when you try to call them you can never get through to even cancel. I was way to trusting I expected that paying for shipping and handling was a way to try this product out. Please be aware and careful when ordering...always read the terms and conditions.

Normally, I avoid discussion boards/complaint columns b/c they tend to not matter in the end. But to ANYONE who reads this, Ultra Lean Tea is a ripoff! I called to be reimbursed for the UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES, and the "MANAGER" HUNG UP IN MY FACE! How's that for customer service! I was a regulating agency I would SHUT THEM DOWN! It's deplorable that these people can scam scam scam and there is no appellate jurisdiction for the consumer.

Also if you look at the top of your screen if you have google, It says on here ads by google and ultra lean green tea is one of the ads. How sad is that. I just got a giggle out of that and had to share. I called again and cancelled for the third time today, got a cancellation number and all again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. It has taken me nearly 3 months to get this issue resolved now my bank is the one doing the solving not me anymore. Thank goodness. Hope this helps some poor person out there who is thinking about trying this product, save yourself the hastle and dont. bottom line.

I totally agree with this, this company is a scam. I was told that when I cancel that I could bill it again for another month and get my money back on the first month and only pay 30.00 for the second month once the 70 was refunded. yeah right they charged me 2 times for 79.00 I called my bank and reported it to my bank, they are refunding me the entire amount. and reporting the company for fraud. Gotta love Bank of America.

I also made the mistake of ordering without reading all the terms and conditions. The phone number helped, but they never answered and I didn't have hours to waste waiting. I actually called my bank and reported my debit/credit card stolen so that I could cancel it and prevent them from taking more money because my account was empty and I didn't want to deal with overdrafts. I have to go in and get a new card, but I'm relieved to have them off my back.

Please...DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT. It is a rip off. It took over 3 weeks for me to even get my sample tea and by then my account was already charged $69.87. When I called to cancel and try to get a credit they told me it was past the 14 days. I told them that I had just received the product but they just didn't want to hear it and was not helpfull at all.

I'm furious with this company! First of all, it's incredibly difficult to reach them to cancel your order! I tried calling right after I ordered my free sample, and the number that was listed did not work--I wasn't put on hold...it did not go through. Second of all, I had assumed that once I got the tea, I would call in and tell them I wanted to cancel, I figured they would give me a number, but there wasn't one. So, then I assumed (I will never assume again) that there was no way juice packets would cost more than 20-30 dollars per container...WRONG again...and not only that, I paid 74.99 for the first one BECAUSE of the shipping and handling. After that, I was charged 69.99 (without the shipping and handling--how nice of them) for the second one.

However, I will say that once I called, they offered to refund the last thing that was shipped if I returned it. I encourage you guys to do the same. They were friendly about it, although I don't know that I trust them to do it...I may put a hold on my bank account for them...this is ridiculous!

Want to share that the same thing happened to me when ordering UltraLean Green - I agreed to pay for the shipping and handling since it was a FREE month's supply. Waited for about 3 weeks for product to arrive - it came alright in a package with no explanation or "how to use". Two days later a debit was charged on my checking account indicating $70.
Called and found out that my 14 days of trial (which I did not know about) expired and that was the reason for the charge for another months supply.? Immediately called company and cancelled. Representative on phone knew of the gimmick and informed me that he would credit my account. That was 2 days ago - still no refund. I can't believe how many people have been duped by this - thought I was the only one.

I have been looking for something to help me lose weight and came across the ultra lean green and your complaints about it, but I decided to go ahead and purchase it anyway because I have heard good thing about green tea and here is what my experience was:

1- They do have a valid telephone number that is answered by someone that speaks English. (big plus for me, unlike software giants, you know who you are)

2- I did have to sit on hold for about 7 1/2 minutes until my call was answered, but that is at least better then my internet provider who is usually 45 minutes.

3- I have actually felt a little more energized by the green tea.

4- When I ordered my sample I read everything on the 2 pages and they clearly tell you that it is a trial and that if you don't cancel it then they will send you a new shipment each month and you will be charged. (sorry Darby)

5- They give you a money back guarantee.

All and all I have been happy with it and will continue using it, I don't really understand some of the complaints because I do most of my shopping online and I have bought items that have had hidden fees that were not anywhere on the site, but this company has everything spelled out pretty clear all you need to do is read it before you buy it, it is people like you that complain about Walmart, Kmart and who knows what other companies usually because of something that you neglected to read in the first place.
