In 2008/08/30 I bought a brown genuine leather lounge suite (Invoice number 8126 /SVOTP002799)from UFO Furniture. In the first month the lounge suite was already sagginglike a flat tyre.i phoned the and they came and took it, and brought it back in a good condition .Five months down the line they were sagging again I called them they came and took them back. The reason that they were able to come back was that the lounge suite had only one year guarantee.
One year passed and the lounge was sagging again and at that time it the leather was pilling off and it was strange because I bought a genuine leather and I used dove soap to clean them as they have advice me, only this time there was not guaranteed and I called them, emailing but I didn’t get any response from them, and the bad but was now the lounge was not even 2 years old but it looked like I bough it 10 years.I wanted to get an answer from them that when I bought this lounge suite for R10 450 I thought that I was buying quality, also I would have never bought that lounge suite if I knew that it was going to pill of within one year after purchase.
Now I am stuck with lounge suite which cost me R10 450 and it looks like it was bought twenty years ago, I feel that I was cheated, when I bough this lounge I thought it was going to last at least ten year not 2 months.

I had exactly the same problem with them! I bought a suite for R14000 - within a few months I had to send one in for repair but after the 1 year warranty was up the suite was falling to pieces, springs popping out the bottom and parts of the seats lifting or sagging that you can't even sit comfortabley. I tried writing to them saying I paid so much for something only 2 years ago and it's in a terrible condition. Their only answer was sorry, your warrenty is up but we can put you in contact with someone who can repair it for your own account.
Pathetic company this!

Upholstered lounge suites in leather do bag over time, this can be after a few months or after a few years. I have a 20 year old leather lounge suite, the springs are steel with high density foam seat cushions which have been replaced after 10 years use. The problem is simple many years ago leather lounge suite where very exspensive around $10000 to $15000 for a 3 seater and 2 chairs, they where made by tradesmen and professional upholsterers, enter china and the great influx of everything, furniture dealers quickly jumped onto the buy a 30ft container of leather lounge suites made out of cheap nasty foam, cheap pine frame, and cheap elastic webbing for seat bases, they where paying $1000 per sofa set when you buy 200 lots and selling them for $3000 so everybody who could raise $25 per week on payments bought 1, in the meantime mr Australian and American quality furniture manufacturer went broke so now what you have is a mass population of people who believe a good lounge suite costs $3000...wrong very wrong we can recover a lounge suite in fabric for $3000 a new custom made lounge with hardwood rails steel springs quality foam and filling will cost you $6000 to $8000 and around $12000 in leather...real leather Australian and Italian...not nasty asian crap that will fall apart in a couple of years or like my friend above what you have is a cheap vinyl not 100% leather you got stung...sorry about that bud.

I have been making furniture in Melbourne Australia since i was 16 years old now im 47 and we get at least 1 to 3 calls a day regarding cheap chinese leather suites that are sagging, the price to fix this problem costs around $980 per sofa and we earn our money as the whole thing gets to come apart...sad thing is we are flatout fixing rubbish for poor people, my advise buy American, English or Australian hand made custom furniture by a small company who can show you whats inside there lounges $6000 for a suite that will last you 15 years then get recovered and last another 15 years is a very good deal and a hell of alot cheaper than buying chinese crap that lasts 12 months at $3000 a pop.

Regards and good luck out there people...Marty T custom maker of quality furniture
