I was contacted by a local real estate agent who had worked with HGTV House Hunters previously .He asked if I would like to be considered for the show. I agreed because I am a fan of HouseHunters and my condo is for sale, beachfront. I thought it would be a good marketing tool. I was approached with a week by Anna Prus from TVN S.A. a television channel and production company, contracted out by the Discovery channel to produce a series called "Beach Life". The crew inspected my condo last week, Jan.17, 2020. I drove 4 hours to meet with them at the condo. I blocked my time and my condo from potential rentals to accommodate the producer, director and associates for their inspection. I was told after they did a walk through, the director would call me to set up a date and time to film. to date (Jan 23, 2020) I have not heard back from TVN.
I had dinner with a friend on the evening of Jan 22 who owns a condo across the street. She informed me her condo was filmed Jan . 21-22 for the Beach Life series. Perplexed as to how the producers connected with her in such a short time, I asked her how she was contacted by the producers of Beach Life. She said she was contacted through Airbnb. I asked her did they book your condo through AirBnB. She told me "No, but there are ways you can get around the system at AirBnB to contact the owner".
She also, told me they made her sign a disclosure which states she cannot speak about the filming or how she was contacted. I found thie alarming as my experience was very different and seemingly on the "up and up".
When I received my contract through the email from Anna Prus, there was no disclosure -it was a straight forward contract. I was a bit concerned because I could not find any information about the show when I Googled ":Beach Life". My agent said it was a new show and not to worry. So, I signed the contract. But with the recent information as to how they are using AirBnB to contact clients for the show and knowing how strict AirBnB is with regard to soliciting their clients without renting directly from AirBnB- I was alarmed.
My friend was very clear that TVN/Discovery did not rent her condo but contacted her through AirBnB.
I am also, disturbed by the unprofessional behavior of the crew (producer directors associates) who inspected by condo . I never received a return call or answer to my email.I also emailed Anna Prus in Poland and to date have not returned my emails. I texted "Monika" and have not heard back.
I have been a fan of the HouseHunters program and have watched Discovery over the years. I cannot believe the Discovery company would hire a contractor with such unscrupulous behavior as I outlined above.
I am sure AirBnB would not be happy to know their data was being used to finance a TV show.

To date I have not heard back from anyone at TVN-maybe they don't even exist? I have tried to reach Discovery to no avail. I will keep trying to reach Discovery corporate to see if this film crew really is who they say they are!

The whole experience was not only a waste of my time but has raised suspicion --who really are these people?

I have asked TVN for a #400 payment for lost rental revenue

If anyone is approached by a film crew who says they work with Discovery -try to reach Discovery to verify who they are.
