Trista began a cheer program 3 years ago in Richmond Hill at Richmond Hill Gymnastics Club. The program was very successful and at the end of the cheer season Trista grouped a bunch of us moms at her condo to discuss a new step forward. Trista's grand vision was to move to a newer more modern facility where she would grow her club and she wanted our support. Our children loved her program, and so we supported Trista in this move.
Since then everything went to hell.
Her new program was more expensive and every year she raised her prices significantly. Her communication was lousy and the team was shaky. An anonymous email was sent to all of us parents by one of the teams moms crying out that the program was ruined and falling apart. With the reassurance of other parents and Trista, following this email, we chalked it up to nonsense. Looking back this email was the first MAJOR red flag that something was very wrong.
This season, Trista missed approximately 12 practices over a 6 week period with no explanation at all. She had a junior coach with no cheer experience sit in for her. Rumours were flying around about health issues and she spoke to some moms but not to others making the entire experience feel like a Mean Girls High School environment.
All events were cancelled. No Halloween party as planned, no Holiday party as planned, no volunteer opportunity as planned and no communication continued on. Trista closed all Facebook and Instagram pages so the girls on the team were demotivated, angry and hurt.
Competition season began, no make-up, no hotel suggestions, no schedules were shared. Trista did the bare minimum to get by. I was sure she may not even show to the competitions. The kids began hating cheer, wanting to quit, practices became like war zones. And then as if nothing could get worse, Trista sends out a demand letter for funds threatening to de-roster the kids if all funds weren't paid in full. She held back practice gear until February eith only 6 practices left.
This is the worst children's program experience of my life and my daughters life. I highly recommend you stay away from this program.
