When the term is used as a noun, it should not be preceded by the article t-h-e. Just Delmarva as in "severe weather will pass through Delmarva this evening." If preceded by the article t-h-e, it becomes an adjective, as in "rain tonight on the Delmarva Peninsula." You announcers sound foolish when that basic grammatical difference is ignored, and you are passing incorrect information to the rest of the country.Read full review of The Weather Channel
